Keep Your Eye on GenVec - But Your Money Elsewhere
hey rocco, any updates to your previous opinions regarding genvec. Now that the FDA will permit overall survival as the primary endpoint and possibly getting a second peak at the data this fall. genvec should be poised for a rally..

Seattle Genetics at ASH 2007 (Part I)
i agree the results look stunning.. but the patient population appeared very restrictive. they only took very healthy sick people/

have u had a chance to look at the results of DNA's trastuzumab-dm1 abstract from the SABC.. last week... in a phase 1 trial dosed at MTD.. 12 of 15 patients either had SD or PR..
5 of 15 had PR... so 7 of 10 remaining had SD between 4 -8 months.. pretty good data for refractory patients..

      Immunogen’s Bright Future
ohad.. begging your pardon.. but have you listened to any of the cnference calls or presentations by Genentech regarding trastuzumab-dm1. DNA gushes when they talk about this drug. phase one data on tras-dm1 .. 18 patients.. total.. 10 dosed at or near MTD of 3.6mg/kg.. response... 4 of 10 patients had measured response >50% tumor reduction. yes, this is on patients previously refractory to HERCEPTIN therapy. then the 1st 6 patients dosed during the phase 2 trial.. results.. 2 of 6 had measured response of >50% tumor reduction and durable for 6 weeks.. that is actually 6 of 15 patients with durable response or 40%. not 37.5%..

HERCEPTIN alone achieves a response rate of 22-25% depending on whose numbers you see... so a response of 33-40% in refractory patients.. IS HUGE.. ""not somewhat unflattering"&quo... as you characterize it.

go back and listen to the UBS DNA presentation. gene.com/ ..
      it doesn't disappoint.
this doesnt sound like genentech is disappointed in the response rate.

u make mention of mouse data.. u can wave a wand over mice and cure cancer. mouse data doesnt translate into human response rate. any first year med student knows this..

you also fail to mention that DNA is concurrently running a once a week dosing phase 1 trial with tras-dm1 to evaluate other dosing options. possibly to increase the dose.
