DivX's First Conference Call: What About PS3 and XBox 360 Support?

Unfortunately, as of now, there is no support for Divx on either console. PS3 is pushing MP4-AVC and the X-box, WMV, neither of which have really caught on to the same extent. If they did support it, there would probably be much greater sales for use as a media-center (the only popular codec they support now is MP3!), but perhaps, as this article suggests, the issue of royalties is holding them back. I just hope they sort it out soon, if indeed, they ever do.
