  • Apple Set For Strong Sales Of iPhone 6 In Just A Few Weeks - But Is It Too Little, Too Late? [View article]
    Mr. Blair,
Thanks for your article. I enjoyed reading it. I don't have any position in AAPL and frankly don't care whether you are long or short AAPL. A well written article should speak for itself.

I am shocked by the number and nature of negative/harsh/rude comments. I wish people could be more respectful and not get personal.

I hope people realize that the direction of the stock movement is determined by the "big boys."

    regards and GTLA

  • Why Is Cliffs Using Its Precious Cash To Buy Back Shares? [View article]
I also feel that a dividend cut, probably in stages, is very likely. The management is very likely to sell the idea of money saved from dividend cut for share buy back.

  • Chicago Bridge And Iron - Speculative Buy [View article]
The PP article questioned the CBI's accounting practice. I would have liked if the CBI management had addressed this issue raised by the PP article as it is a serious accusation. So far the management's reply has been generic, which is disappointing. Unless CBI addresses this issue, I would consider this stock speculative. The direction of the stock price, of course, would be dictated by the major institutional holders.

    Just a follow-up on ITMN.

I personally think that ITMN's chance for FDA approval is still 50/50. My reasons are:
    1) ITMN pretty much has the same data as in previous trials. They just had one group this time and shortened the time period to 52 weeks. Had they combined the previous trials data ( 2 groups) it would have been significant difference statistically.
    2) ITMN doesn't know the specific mechanism by which their drug works.
    3) Rumours regarding a competitor drug have now been confirmed. They had successful results as well.
    4) The competitor (Boehringer) has already started another trial but with a different, and better, endpoint.

What do you think the buyout price for ITMN would be ?

What is your take on recent successful trial results by ITMN for IPF (Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis) ?

ITMN stock price sky-rocketed on the recent successful trial news and there is lot of chatter about it being a potential company that could be acquired by a big player.

On the flip side, there was an article in Biopharm Insight in February about how ITMN's competitor have better results on the IPF and would be disclosing those results at May conference.

Just wondering what your thoughts were and if you were following this story.

  • Market chatter still high on InterMune takeout rumors [View news story]
It looks like there is lot of speculative money driving this stock. One needs to keep in mind that a clearer picture would appear in May when both ITMN and the competitor present their complete data. Right now, it appears that has been priced in. It is interesting that this piece of news came in just when the momentum in the stock was waning.
