Sources of Hidden Value in Canadian Oil Sands Equities

The article is fine, and besides, the environmental issues we need to see the whole picture and include the "life cycle assessment" approach when producing Tar Sands.
In both mining processes huge amounts of energy (steam) are necessary in order to facilitae the flow of Bitumen and to recover the oil from the sand. This oil is of poor quality which means will requiere further and deep refining in order to reach a valuable product. Thus, when evaluating the whole life cycle of the process it will happen that we are placing more energy per barrel that the energy contained in one barrel of Canadian Heavy Oil or Refined oil products.
Companies will have to evaluate the "Breakpoint" of oil price and see if the are making money or destroying it.
