  • David Winters Ravages Coca-Cola's Board Once Again, Stating The Dividend Is At Risk [View article]
Alex. Thanks for your response. I usually do not receive comments on my comments. What a treat ! The real move for KO was years ago when Quaker foods, the owner of Gatorade, came on the market. WB wasn't a supporter so it didn't happen. Monster has been a public company for many years, originally known as Hansen Beverage. While this is just an opinion, I would bet heavily that they are not going to spend 18B+, the current market cap, to buy Monster. I wonder what the numbers would be for Red Bull ? Regarding the distribution business, as I mentioned in my initial comment, I generally don't care for a business that is both capital and labor intensive, much lower margins that the supplier business, concentrates, and you don't control the entire distribution system since independent bottlers remain and would want a fortune to be bought out of their rights ! I believe my basis is about 23 so I am a hold.

  • David Winters Ravages Coca-Cola's Board Once Again, Stating The Dividend Is At Risk [View article]
Thanks for your comment. My intent was not to chastise him at all. I do praise him for speaking out when it typically is not done. The Company is still very profitable any my general feeling is that the Company will always go to great lengths to protect the dividend. I absolutely have no information to the contrary. It's just my practical view. Finally, if the stock grew minimally, at the rate of the S & P over the last few years and was trading substantially higher than I doubt Mr. Winters comments would have gained the traction they did. Appearing on CNBC certainly gave him the platform to speak out.

  • David Winters Ravages Coca-Cola's Board Once Again, Stating The Dividend Is At Risk [View article]
Good article. David Winters should be commended and his points raised are right on target, except about a potential dividend cut. The Company didn't aggressively expand into the alternative beverage space agressively enough years ago when it was cost effective. In addition, the Company had no ability to create a product internally that would would compete in the alternative space. They are too big and too slow to react to the market opportunities if value. When they do make a move they grossly overpay, ie 4.3 B for Vitamin Water. To the commenter above, they can't afford to buy Monster any longer, 5-10 years ago was the time. Even DPS is outperforming them and their carbonated brands were pretty much considered 3rd rate, except for Dr. Pepper. Finally, the decision to reacquire part of the distribution network needs to be questioned. Distribution is much more capital and labor intensive with lower margins than selling concentrate to a bottler. I am long, but dead money. I just don't want to pay the tax to get out. I'm sure I'm not the only one, even WB probably has these feelings !

  • Paying Under 2 Times EBITDA For An Industry Leader [View article]
Stock swap. WB talks often that taxes should be higher, however, he employs the best tax people money can buy. I guess he's just doing it for the shareholders, since it's his fiduciary duty !

  • Linn Energy: Poor Guidance Shocks Investors, But No Panic Necessary [View article]
Good article. I would think that the Company could easily put together a projected 2015 DCF given that the majority of their production is hedged. They could use $ 80 for oil as the base than give an estimated DCF using reduced prices for oil that is currently not hedged. Also, they know their current production is and how the recent asset swaps should affect production in 2015. Given the panic in the market, which is killing the share/unit price one would think addressing the safety of the distribution would be paramount to management.

  • Realty Income Could Grow Its Dividend Per Share 28% By Buying American Realty Capital Properties [View article]
Absolutely makes sense if the deal could be structured as an asset purchase. No one would by the stock with the unknown liabilities attached to the shares.

  • Why I Bought American Realty Capital Properties [View article]
I don't have to dream. Assuming the property and rent exists, which I'm sure they do, the assets would make an accretive acquisition for an entity that may have their shares trading at a much higher FFO multiple than ARCP. Also, cheap debt is still available that would make an acquisition accretive to a purchaser if their cost of funds is much lower than the cash generated. Proper due diligence can flush out the answer real quick.

  • Why I Bought American Realty Capital Properties [View article]
I liked the article, short and sweet. I am heavily long with a huge unrealized loss. Given the simplicity of the business ARCP is in they are a great takeover target, my wishfull thinking. It would be an accretive acquisition to someone even after paying a fair premium over where the stock is currently trading.

I'm not talking over anyone's head and never have ! If someone misunderstood my comment then I am happy to clarify. However, saying that I am "confused" is offensive. I have made a substantial amount of comments prior to this one and I have never been misunderstood nor confused. Thank you.
