Google: An Internet Index Onto Itself
Right on the money! Google is worth every penny. Your example of trying to go the whole day without using Google and then charging a paltry sum (but remembering how many people use it every day) cleary shows the value of Google. If other search engines had the creativity of Google we wouldn't have this story. Google leads the pack by far www.newsvisual.com/new...

Bank of America Drops on Earnings Miss
I agree, the next few quarters will be very messy for BofA. This is true for most banks and financial companies. Contrary to popular opinion, we are not seeing the end of the credit crisis, we are still very much at the beginning. Hopefully the BOD at BofA can pull together their collective minds, creativity, and experience ( www.newsvisual.com/new... )to turn the bank around as soon as possible.

Intel Rises On Strong Revenue Beat, Forecast
All the restructuring finally paid off at IBM. Hate to see all those people lose their jobs, but in the end it was the right move. Cheers to the management for having the guts to make the call www.newsvisual.com/new... . They are planning on making more cuts, another 2,000 at least. This time I will trust their instincts.

      Yahoo Beats Estimates, Shares Surge
The creativity and experience of the board at Yahoo! is evident given the fact that they pulled this off in 100 days www.newsvisual.com/new... . Now the question is, will this momentum continue? Buying Facebook or AOL would just be a quick fix. Yahoo! needs to come up with something totally new and original to regain lost ground on Google.

      65% Chance AT&T Buys EchoStar - Citigroup
What is the logic behind AT&T trying to get into the satellite cable business? To me DirecTV seems like a much better fit for EchoStar, although to be fair AT&T may have the advantage in starting initial negotiations www.newsvisual.com/new... if this deal actually does go somewhere, but not by much.

SIRI/XMSR Merger Will Pass, Both Stocks Are Cheap - Bear Stearns
I've had a feeling this deal would go through for awhile. It was the right price, the right conditions, the right time, and both companies just seemed to familiar with each other through corporate ties www.newsvisual.com/new... for the deal to not go through.

Oracle Bids $17/Share for BEA Systems
BEA is now saying that the offer from Oracle is too low. This seems a bit of stretch to me. I know BEA was undervalued, but not by this much. Could be the beginning of another bidding war. Well, if that does happen at least these backchannels for negotiations should remain open www.newsvisual.com/new...

Google vs. Microsoft: Call It A Draw
Neither of these companies get to have my sympathy. Microsoft is calling "foul" on Google (they even tried to pressure Time Warner and AT&T to oppose the DoubleClick deal www.newsvisual.com/new... ), well plenty of companies called "foul" on Microsoft in the past, and Microsoft behaved just like Google is behaving today, not caring. This is the real crux of this argument. If it were the other way around, Google would be crying "foul" on Microsoft as well. The author is right in that both companies are their own worse enemies, couldn't agree more. That is the best way to sum this up. One is losing a monopoly, the other is becoming one, and both want to be one.
