      Analyst Color On eBay's Earnings
I think eBay shares will go up. This past quarter was their first loss since 1999. How many companies, let alone Internet companies, can say that? And the loss was only because of the Skype purchase, which many people roundly criticisized. However, a record like that tells me eBay has both creative and experienced management www.newsvisual.com/new... . I have no doubt they will turn Skype into a high revenue unit. And if they don't, they can always auction it :)

      Google’s Profits Surge, Beat Estimates
Incredible product, company, and management www.newsvisual.com/new... . However, they said it perfectly, the party can't go on forever. Someday Google will hit a "wall", or else something better will come along, probably sooner rather than later.

Bank of America's Miss Indicates Broader Economic Woes
BofA may be down, but I don't think they are out. Yes, the credit crisis is in its early stages now but I think the Directors of BofA now know what went wrong (although they should have seen this coming years ago in my opinion). The experience on the Board suggests they should have no trouble turning the company around www.newsvisual.com/new...

Coke Comfortably Tops Earnings, Sales Estimates
Way to go Coke!! Their management team clearly has things together www.newsvisual.com/new... . With the health conciousness craze in America, they've focused more on non-sugar drinks domestically while strongly pushing the traditional Coca-Cola beverage in emerging markets where Coke is still often seen as a trendy item. With stocks up 20% this year I can't wait to see where things go from here.

Looks like it may be time for Jamie Dimon to head back to Citigroup. He's clearly got the skills and experience to turn Citi around www.newsvisual.com/new... . Rumors are going around that Citi's board could axe Prince by the end of this week.

AOL to Scrap 20% of Work Force
It seems too little, too late for AOL. They should have started doing this years ago, now they are so far behind that it is almost impossible to catch up. Look for Time Warner to onload AOL by the end of the year, early next year at the latest. Who could buy AOL? I know it sounds out there, but one of the rumors I keep hearing is Yahoo! www.newsvisual.com/new... , which is also doing anything it can to catch up to Google, and Yahoo! would love to get its hands on AOL's ad business.

McDonalds: The Best Is Yet To Come
McDonald's never ceases to amaze me. How you can turn such a simple idea (decent food served fast) into a global empire is amazing. No wonder nearly every business student studies McDonald's at one point or another. McD's current earnings are all the more impressive considering the all out assault against the fast food culture and obesity epidemic in America. The Board of Directors at McD's are to be commended. Indeed they have a wealth of experience not just in the food industry but in a wide variety of industries across the corporate world, as can be evidenced by this map of their corporate ties www.newsvisual.com/new...

      Hewlett Packard's Stunning Turnaround
Anything to the rumors reported in the Financial Times and NY Times that HP is interested in acquiring Eastman Kodak? Considering HP is the largest computer maker in the world, and Kodak the largest camera maker in the world, the deal could be interesting. I also think Kodak could use a good shot in the arm. Plus, the current CEO of Kodak is a former longtime HP executive www.newsvisual.com/new... . This deal seems to get mentioned every year, any chance that it is for real this time?

Citigroup Earnings Drop 57%, Beats Estimates
I don't know if I quite agree with the statement that CEO Chuck Prince should not take some responsibility for these losses. They happened on his watch and if he (and the other heads of banks for that matter) didn't see the credit crisis coming then they need to step down. Investing in loands for people with bad credit just sounds like a bad business plan. However, overall I feel that the rest of Citigroup's management seems up to the task of turning the company around www.newsvisual.com/new... . If we get similar numbers for Q4 and the first quarter 2008, maybe Citigroup should look at some serious changes.

From an HR point of view, I think this transition will be smoother than people think www.newsvisual.com/new... . From a technological point of view, I've heard it could be a bit of headache. The next 45 days should be smoother than the 45 days after that.
