Is the Peak Oil Theory Valid?
Thanks, Steve. Someone with an ounce of sense at last. What can you say to someone who attacks an "oil is from dead dinosaurs theory" which nobody with any brain could ever imagine was true? And as for "only 30 years ago NOBODY believed in Continental Drift either", Wegener first put forward his theory in 1912 and plate tectonics was widely accepted by the sixties, which, by my arithmetic, is more than 30 years ago.

How Much Ammo Does the Fed Have Left?
Finally someone talking some sense. I wondered when people were going to start worrying about the oil price and the dollar drop. By the looks of things, the market agreed since, after the initial drop, the market rebounded even though they did not get the expected 100 basis point cut they were expecting. As a foreigner, I think the rest of the world is more worried about the plummeting dollar than Bear Stearns. If China and Japan give up on the dollar and liquidate their dollar assets, then that will make Bear Stearns look like a Sunday afternoon stroll in the park.
