The author makes a valid point, and the numbers speak for themselves. However, I still feel that eBay is better than people think. Last quarter was the first loss eBay reported since 1999. Rather than look at the Skype purchase as a lemon, let's consider the possibility that eBay might just have some ideas up its sleeve to turn it into a revenue generating maching. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt after 30+ quarters of profit, I think they earned it.

eBay is a buy. They just posted their first negative quarter since 1999, and that was only because of the Skype purchase.
