200K or 200M? Isn't the number of shares outstanding 246M? How is that 50%?

  • Fannie's And Freddie's Huge Profits Raise Questions For Future Of Mortgage Finance [View article]
Can we interpret this instead as a sign that the government will eventually sell their stake at a significant profit, and abandon the plan to wind down these companies?

  • Can Dendreon Stop The Medivation Invasion? [View article]
I like this post, Lebronz, and I find it credible. Any predictions for pps for end of 2013, 2014, 2015? What is the impact to these estimates if...
    i) they have the biomarker solution by end of 2013?
ii) if the company pushes to treat earlier-stage disease?
iii) if they were to acquire or develop technologies, possibly jointly, such as ImmunoCellular Therapeutics', with ostensibly lesser COGS?

    Cheers,

    Michel

    Hi Ted,

any indication of progress on biomarkers from your contacts at Dendreon? That seems like the determining event on the horizon that will impact future sales, does it not?

    Cheers,

  • Why Is Uncle Sam So Strict On Dear Little Fannie Mae And Freddie Mac? [View instapost]
So, would you consider FNMA and FMCC to be a decent value, or are you apprehensive about them being wound down?

  • Dendreon: Correctable Limitations On Provenge Sales Are Identifiable [View article]
"The fact that DNDN makes no effort to get the drug approved for earlier use is disheartening."

I don't understand why DNDN management is not taken to task on this issue, as well as the issue of biomarkers. I does not seem like rocket science, from my perspective.

If these two strategies are implemented, it becomes a very different company.

  • More on the Fannie/Freddie revamp: One consequence of the new arrangement will be the prevention of the companies' building of capital that would allow them to emerge in pre-crisis form someday. The move seems likely to fry those investors who bought preferred shares in the companies hoping for distribution of profits beyond the 10% government dividend. [View news story]
So, David, good or bad? Will the government renegotiate when the profit exceeds 10%? Looking forward to your next article.

  • Charting A Course For Equity Markets And The Economy [View article]
So, investment really boils down to a coin-flip with a weighted coin, where the a priori chance of success is the same as the chance of the Dems being re-elected. I think that Romney can be counted on to abuse his power, if elected.

Interesting article. Do you think that a decision to wind down Fannie and Freddie is still possible if the Republicans win the national election? What percentage possibility of a wind-down would you give to either scenario, Democrat or Republican presidency?

  • Fannie And Freddie Reform Plan Modeled After AIG [View article]
It may take a while for the economy to roar. I see some of the joblessness as systemic (large chunks of industries have been outsourced and will probably not come back, while others that could be stable need manpower with technical sophistication of which there is a paucity anywhere in the world, including the US). Moreover, there are external factors that will cap exports. Does that leave inflation as the best bet?

Please forgive the naive comment, but why the dilution?
