  • Nokia - Asset Sale And EOS Could Be Catalysts For A Strong Stock Rally [View article]
@wrs, yes I know it's coming. But personally Microsoft needs to put this as priority and with utmost urgency, don't you think so? My wife still looking for Candy Crush and sync play with FB friends. Believe me pal, once Apps multiply, users will jump hundred folds. Apple went thru that phase.

@ted, chart looking good. If Q2 good, NOK will no longer trade below $5. For longs who see its potential, anything below $5 is real bargain. If by Q4 2013/ Q1 2014, WP8 captures 10% market, easily $15 and if according to IDC's prediction that comes 2016, WP8 will attain over 20% market share, pal...you tell me what the pps will be?

Guys guys guys end this August you won't see NOK below $5 again. It's growing from strength to strength. All NOK needs to do is push Microsoft to ramp up apps for WP8 phones and more will jump onto the bandwagon. It's market share is growing, data don't lie. It's chart is showing sign of bull. At current level, it's still consolidating. Once Q2 announce, this time it will only head north.

  • "I can say sales of the Galaxy S4 smartphone are fine," says Samsung (SSNLF.PK) co-CEO Shin Jong-kyun in response to a JPMorgan report that did a number on Samsung shares. But he doesn't appear to refute the report's claim (based on checks) that Samsung has significantly cut S4 build orders; others have issued similar reports since. Jong-kyun also reiterates (previous) Samsung has no intention of joining HTC in settling with Apple (AAPL -1.5%). "Patent disputes against Apple will be [continued]." [View news story]

  • End of an era: Nokia (NOK -2.4%) will ship its last Symbian phone this summer as it fully focuses its smartphone resources on Lumia hardware, and pushes its Asha line to consumers wanting sub-$100 touchscreen phones. Nokia's Symbian shipments plunged to 500K in Q1, leading total smartphone units to fall 49% Y/Y in spite of 5.6M Lumia shipments. The news comes shortly after HSBC predicted a mix shift towards Lumia phones will allow Nokia's phone ASP to fall only 1% in 2013 in spite of feature phone ASP declines, and rise 6.5% in 2014. [View news story]

  • Nokia's Sad Death [View article]
@pengs4 agree with u "once Samsung 's craze is over..." Or I rather its the Korean wave which caused LG phones pop out from nowhere to be 3rd.

NOK need to get its act together. LG is the new 3rd in the race. But honestly Ryan is far more pessimistic than myself. The key to NOK will be nsn believe it or not. The lows of 1.62 is where shortists drove it low, create fear that NOK may go bankrupt. Now we don't see this coming, so I feel the share price will range 2.50 to $4 before Q2 results. The thing that will pull it down is Indian tax issue. I'm looking to before May14 for new lumnia announcement. I'm currently trading but will go longer timeframe if Q2 make it, quietly confident but not overly optimistic.
