  • Here's Why Investors Should Continue Avoiding Whole Foods Market [View article]
Fully agreed rmps! WFM is looking at the wrong "competition". And years ago it didn't used to be that way. They should keep their head high and emphasize the (significant) differences between themselves and the WM style bulk outlets of this world. As long as they think they're swimming in the same pool, they're bound to loose every lap. Come on guys, show your guts !!!

  • Tesla Needs To Capture 14% U.S. Market Share To Justify Valuation [View article]
Tesla is in the lucky position not to have to carry the burden of Mercedes' 88 years (I am sure it was more!) car development with all its drawbacks and limitations.
Give it a chance and a break and the new X model (and what we can expect from Elon Musk after that) and the old mold will remain broken forever !

  • Why This $19bn Is Facebook's Best Move Yet [View article]
Glad that so many people understand the limitations of this deal. All the positives are piled on top of each other it sounds like a good deal. Only reality says that the negatives should be counted as well, such as overlapping FB/WA usage, free alternatives, no ads, etc. etc. No wonder FB CFO had no explanatory story. There isn't one !

  • A SodaStream Mea Culpa [View article]
As an aerospace engineer you were indeed flying a bit too high on the Icarus wings of Sodastream. Your wife is right: it's a fad so sell your shares fortwith and Warren Buffett is right: don't do anything with Sodastream anymore. That's to say, until they get their marketig and markets' act together, because their market is NOT the mainstream Coke or Pepsi consumer. Their marketing should be focussed on 3R, green, even non-carbonated softdrinks based on their healthier sirops.

  • Samsung profit drops for first time in over two years [View news story]
Right King Rat, let's wait for the detailed results before we slam them. It would for instance be interesting if they would reveal (which they never will) what their smartphone margins are. People like to slam Apple regularly because they are open and transparent in their financial information. Samsung would be sh*tscared to do something similar, and is therefore the implicit loser.

  • Apple's iPad losing market share in China [View news story]
It is an art to turn positive news into negativity all the time just for the purpose of AAPL bashing. How about the fact, that even without having a new iPad product Apple managed to increase its sales in China by 29% in this period? Just wait what happens if a new Apple product hits the market. It will leave the then-old Galaxies in its wake.

  • Samsung Is Eating Apple's Breakfast, Lunch, And Dinner [View article]
Exactly ! What about profit? Samsung knows how to move goods at a high pace, but Apple knows how to maximize profit on what they sell. That is because Apple is the invention leader, able to charge a premium for what they invent, and Samsung is the clever copier, geared towards moving vast quantities at lower prices.
