Biofuels Professor Says Corn Will Never Work
Here is what I'm drawing from this article.
1. Corn based ethanol and everything associated with it is a bust.
2. Sugar cane ethanol as exhibited by Brazil is the future.
So
1. Probably the US will stop investing/producing in corn ethanol.
2. Probably the US will need to drop the tariff on Brazil ethanol imports.
To me that means Cosan (CZZ) is looking good.
CZZ is the largest producer of ethanol in Brazil. Half of Brazil's collective gas tank is ethanol, half is gasoline. The ethanol business in Brazil requires no government supports. CZZ is a triple play because it is the largest sugar producer in Brazil, largest ethanol producer in Brazil, and the by-product of both is bagasse which is being sold to burn in electricty producing turbines. CZZ is around $12/share.
CZZ looks like a fantastic buy - can somene please tell me where I'm wrong?
Oilsands Quest: Canadian Black Gold
$130 oil and you own 10+ billion barrels BUT you haven't been able to get one barrel to market over the past 2 years.
Look at some of key phrases from the above article:
"is planning for production"
"field-testing is also underway"
"acquired permits in 2004"
"company seeks to explore and quantify other global-scale discoveries"
"also seek to negotiate agreements"
"In January of this year, the company initiated exploratory drilling"
"BQI strives to move forward"
"They hope potential shareholders will join them"
"They believe that this black gold is certainly a valuable Canadian version"
How else could you possibly describe this other than TALK.
It's a crock of bull.
Just answer the question - how many barrels have you sold?
Oilsands Quest: What's in a Name?
One year from now they'll be renaming their oilfields, releasing more meaningless announcements, drilling more test holes, and people like the author of this article will be writing articles just as meaningless articles as the above posting.
Rio Tinto: Potential Takeover Priced In
I see they are fighting for rail access on public railroads which BHP thinks they own.
