We are seeing Riverbed win the bake offs with Cisco when deploying WAN acceleration for our customers. They seem to be the best of breed solution out there.

Great article! I would stick with Riverbed for application acceleration. They are the best of breed solution in my opinion. I work for a Cisco partner and we are also partnered with Riverbed, because they seem have the best WAN optimization technology. We've had many bake offs and Riverbed Steelhead appliances consistently win. We've really had a great success with their solution in our customer's networks. They have a great mobile solution also. I have a lot of comparison data on all the competitors if anyone is interested. Forrester, Gartner, etc. Just shoot me an email.
