  • Intel shutting down Costa Rican facility, laying off 1.5K workers [View news story]
Its sad to hear about anyone loosing their job, regardless of what country they live in. I would hate to loose my job because a company is tyring to cut costs. But that is a part of life. That is why you are supposed to work hard and be such a valuable member of the work force, they want to keep you. And if that fails, well, thats why you are supposed to save your money.

That battery charger is pretty neat. I'd hate to see what a short circuit would do though. That thing is pulling some amps.

  • Bank Of America: Buy The Dip, It Will Not Last [View article]
Or you had people like my co-worker who got arm loans to buy "rentals" then cashed out the equity to buy cars and other toys then walked away from their mortgages, but not before collecting rent while not paying back the mortgage. If you want bankers to be in jail, then those people I just described should be in jail too.

Are you saying it is ok for the government to take money from a company that was never tried in a court of law and found guilty because you think they did somethign wrong? What happened to innocent until proven guilty?

" do you penalize everybody by taking away the social safety net because of the actions of a few?"

We could use that same argument against the gun control proponents.

jwill - but but but evil corporations will take the tax incentives and not hire more people. Instead Obama should punish those corporations and take more of their money and give it back to people to buy votes, i mean redistribute the wealth, err i mean make them pay their "fare share".

We should also punish US companies for using electricity. We need to protect the environment at all costs and we should only produce electricity from approved green methods. However, the thermal solar plant in CA is frying birds, wind turbines are killing birds and disrupting migration patterns. Nuke power isn't safe and what are we going to do with the waste? Its not like Obama cancelled a building a place to store all of the nuclear material. We can't frack for natural gas because of the environment, obviously. Coal is out. Hydro destroys natural habitats. US companies I guess will need to hire people to ride stationary bikes to power their equipment. Hey that might solve the obesity and unemployment problem.

And how can you expect them to tighten up on illegal immigration? Its not like those people vote. Its not like democrats are against voter ID laws. Its not like our government is instructing ICE to lesson the number of deportations, and they only deport criminals. ITs not like 70k illegal aliens convicted of a crime were released back inside the United States. Its not like border patrol was actually releasing illegal aliens inside of the USA in Texas instead of taking them all the way to Mexico. These people have a right to be here. Shame on you racists.

It is funny how we can grow cotton and ship it to China to be made into designer clothes and sold for $100 per shirt. Crazy. (this part was sincere)

Tony, I wouldn't say they pay zero commission, but probably a very tiny one. I see a lot of trade for certain stocks in small amounts, like 1 or 2 shares. I doubt they are paying 4-5$ per trade.

From watching the video, the jumpfrom 4 to 6 might not make any difference. If they can get one display from a 4 inch wafer, the jump to 6 inch will not give enough area to get a usable display.

  • Can economy handle "normal" interest rates? [View news story]
Obamacare is Bush's fault. Didn't you get the memo? You can laugh at stimulus checks all you want, but why don't you go figure out what the average unemployment rate was under Bush and what it was under Obama, then come back to this thread.

That implanter is pretty impressive. I worked on implanters for 8 years so I know a few things. 50mA beam current is very impressive.
