Targeting a cheap phone for emerging markets may be a good idea. Drive up the user base, which increases demand for apps, which then leads to more app development, which leads to better support for the OS. More apps could translate to better sales.

"I think its disingenuous at best to consider losing revenue streams great news for any type of investor."

QCOM isn't really loosing a revenue stream. Apple is using Intel modems in new lower priced iPhone models in emerging markets. So this new device never had QCOM modems. New regular iPhones will still have QCOM inside of them. Regardless, a 20% CAGR is amazing. I am putting QCOM on my list of stocks to research.

  • Apple On Track To Buy Back 20% Of Itself By 2017 [View article]
The house of representatives comes up with the budget, the senate approves, the president signs it. Instead of pointing out how much debt was racked up under each president, point out how much debt was racked up by each political party when they controlled different parts of the legislative branch. You might be surprised what you find. IF bjnflicks thinks Obamas people are trust worthy, perhaps he/she has not heard any of the news of the land theft from the EPA, the collusion of the EPA with radical left wing groups, the IRS singling out right wings groups, the white house sending representative to the funeral of a thug who got shot beating up a cop while sending no one to the funeral of general killed in Afghanistan, IRS and EPA officials using non-government e-mails to get around FOIA requests, and the list goes on and on.

"Apple hires great people appropriate to the job. Tesla hires mostly unqualified people"

This is funny because recently an article came out about Apple trying to poach TSLA workers with huge bump in salaries and massive signing bonuses.

Here is what I noticed during my time at ASU.

In the power systems engineering classes I took (in the electrical engineering field), many of the Arabic students had all their expenses paid by their government, including vehicles to drive around, lodging, and tuition. They had jobs guaranteed when they graduated and went back home. Can you back up the claims that these are 1-percenters of their countries?
