  • BlackBerry: The Absolute Coolest Brand In South Africa [View article]
George!!!!!!!!!!! Bravo. I loved the intro to this article. Where do you find these things? Loved it! Loved it! Loved it!

And yes - $BBRY is on the same page. If they thought US market was soooo important then they would not launch their product in that country last. Blackberry team is smart. They know they have lost that part of the world so why waste time preaching. Let the product preach for itself - and it has!

At the end of the day, the shareholders only care about the company banking profit. They don't care about how (so long as it is legal) and what country their revenue comes from.

So to all those people who think BBRY is finished or is dead or is a zoombie trying to breathe - all I have to say to y'all is HAAAAAAAA (Chris Mathews style)!

  • BlackBerry (BBRY +0.6%) is talking with rival OEMs about having BlackBerry Messenger pre-installed on their phones, says COO Kristian Tear; the remarks come a month after BlackBerry announced iOS/Android versions of BBM would arrive this summer, exciting some investors and stoking fears among others of less hardware differentiation. BBM claims a base of 61M active users (many of them in emerging markets), with 70% of them using it daily. The iOS/Android apps will face competition from WhatsApp (200M+ users and #2 in Google Play free download rankings), Skype (#3), and Facebook Messenger (#4), among others. [View news story]
$6 in 2015 is likely - of course! No one has a crystal ball. But based on my day to day observations, I am of a 'feeling' based on the charts and the company fundamentals that the $6 days are in the past. And if the $BBRY team is smart (which everyone knows by now that Thor is super smart leader) then those days will never be back!

There is stock manipulation going on which has anchored the stock price under $20 - but even the anchor is about to be released ... wait for it and watch. 2013 is the last year to buy this stock at below $20.

Nope @ Mr. Knowitall. My true feelings are based on convenience. Frankly, I did not know of any other messaging system (apart from Skype) that allowed cross-platform mobile messaging. It was easier to use only one app. This does not mean I don't get messages to my BBM - but most of my friends especially outside Canada use WhatsApp so I had to as well and decided to use it as my primary messaging app. But if BBM is successful in going viral cross-platform then why would I not use it - especially if I own part of the company?

Agree with most comments. I am totally bullish. I am actually one of those who uses WhatsApp over BBM. But not anymore. Now that I own shares, I am going to start using only BBM. Those who say 'too little too late' will pretty soon ask themselves what the heck they were thinking.

Also, CNBC said there are 75M subscribers. I believe (sorry Perkins) this does not include all the returning $BBRY fans and those who converted from other platforms.

It has been a heck of a rollercoaster. The ups and downs have been exhausting. And more is to come. The only question is - how fast and soon is this rollercoaster going to go to get to $78. That's my target!

I am buying $80 puts - I don't know Ashraff, for the first time I am actually not listening to you. Shocking and unreal as it is for me, am kinda nervous about stocks that spike up this fast.

Thanks for the explanation of how the "short squeeze" works. Always wondered about that. Wonder why I never thought of asking you earlier.

    :)

  • BlackBerry (BBRY +2%) spikes higher on rumors Carl Icahn has bought a stake in the company. H-P was the beneficiary of such rumors a couple weeks ago. Earlier today, Scotia Capital argued a strategic partner such as IBM (once reported to be interested in BBRY's network operations centers) is likely to buy the company. [View news story]
Would be good to find out Giuseppe Locatelli's track record on such tweets. That said, Icahn's stake in NUAN didn't help the stock much. I think after a 9% hike or so, it settled back down to its original 19ish. It's down now on bad earnings.

  • Bracing For Dendreon Q1 2013 Earnings - All Eyes On Provenge [View article]
Brace self indeed. If this time the report is yet again negative then I am afraid we just might see $2.00 for this stock - even if for a little while.

  • BlackBerry Shorts Are On Borrowed Time [View article]
George, I hope the shorts heed your advice. It has definitely been a very exciting day. I am still looking forward to your $56 target and am hoping it comes to pass for the sake of both of us!

The analysts have been ..... did you hear that? Yes! Very quite since Selfridges news. I am hoping that they accept defeat and follow Jeffries into seriously re-evaluating their point of view.

Great article as always! Thanks :)
