Enterprise Adoption of Vista Still in Single Digits
The low adoption rate reflects an excellent source of future revenue. This is good news for future quarters. MSFT knew when they made all the behind-the-scenes changes in the operating system code alot of driver compatability issues would surface, so they decided to take all the hits at once with Vista. Soon it will be forgotten and the adoption rate will move on.

      Microsoft's Six Year Wagon Rut
Vista is what an Accountant would could a "big bath writeoff" This means put all the bad news [losses] out at once and then we'll be able to move on. The next version will not have the issues that were all worked out in Vista. That is, in the "big bath writeoff"

      Life Without Microsoft Is Possible
what investors are unsure of is Microsoft's future = what else could it possibly be?
What you're saying about GOOG is a similar narrative to what drove MSFT's multiple so high 8 years ago that it is has taken 8 years for the growth to catch up.

      Yahoo's Jerry Yang: We're Done
If i were a stakeholder in Yahoo, this article would be very disconcerting for me. When the www game changes again, can Google also change or is Google going to stay a one-hit-wonder?

Yahoo/Microsoft: Much Ado About Nothing Until 'Google' Ceases To Be a Verb
GOOG won this one, but with the rate of change, the question is will they win the next one. That is, when the world changes again, who will win the next time around.

Why Microsoft (Yes, Microsoft) Could Dominate Software-as-a-Service
As long as MSFT has the 'poor me' attitude of the article's responders, Google will win. Luckily, MSFT has the attitude of 'we will respond' GOOG won a battle but the war never ends.

Google vs. Microsoft: Software as a Service Battle Heats Up
The scenario offered is you can tap a stranger's shoulder at an airport, ask to borrow their computer, login to your Google Docs and make changes. If all the PC users who would do this switch to Google Docs, Google Docs should explode into the single-digit market share in no time!
This article also had a lot of: "i never believed the rumors you were beat your wife when you were confronted regarding your affairs" That is, the article said what it didn't believe as the excuse to write some very emotional eye-catching phrases. In other words, the writer wrote what he clearly wishes were true while admitting what he knows to be true.

This is getting more tragic by the minute. If you want to talk about holes, how about the hole of unrealistic projections. I suppose we are seeing why Yahoo! is in the mess it's in. Managment says: "Let's project ourselves out of this mess" I assuming they meant Astral Projection.

it would appear that MSFT's competitors tried to do with legislative edict and general BS what they claim MSFT does with its competitive advantages. The hypocrisy would be uninspiring if it weren't simply how it all works.
