Chipotle: Customers Begin to Tighten the Belt
Why is MCD doing so well?

      MCD's P/E = 17
      CMG's P/E = 27

MCD is in uptrend => attracts momentum buyers
CMG is in downtrend => growth guys are bailing out

I know better than to trust Russian ruler's "benevolence"...

These guys have a history to screw over dirty capitalist pigs, also known as investors.

Opportunities in the Real Crisis: Water
People will steal, rob, and kill for water, thus it would be darn dangerous to speculate in water access rights.

Better go with water treatment and efficiency technologies.

Gold and the Demise of the American Dream
There are lots of lunatics in this country, and they are often the most vocal ones.

I guess that's one disadvantage of living in a free country.

Yes, Oil Prices Can Actually Go Down
Without the government, the robber barons would long have sucked your blood dry.

That being said, a healthy balance of power between the business, the labor, and the government is needed because none of them can be really trusted.

Getting More Constructive on Crude Oil
A very good analysis, unlike those rambling pieces from peak oilers and gold bugs.

Although I'm also bullish on oil, I will watch market actions carefully. If the chart tells me to sell, I will sell.

The Bear Market in Aerospace & Defense
When big wars are over, defense stocks go down. It's that simple.

If you check out what happened to BA, GD, and LMT between 1968 and 1974, you will have an idea about these stocks' near future.

Buying Up Foreclosed Single-Family Homes - Smart?
It's only a matter of time before pension funds start scooping up REOs.

Chinese and Japanese are also clamoring for those master planned REOs. 3000 sqft single family homes in California are now MUCH MUCH cheaper than 1000 sqft 2 bed room condos in Shanghai where you can never see the sun.

Berkshire Hathaway Is Not a Value Now
BRK's subs, especially those in the depressed housing and finance industries, are going to kill off lots of competition once the storm has passed.

On the insurance side, it also should eat huge chunks of businesses from the likes of AIG, ABK, and MBI.

How Elastic Is the World's Oil Supply?
ANWR, NPRA, and Continental Shelves are our ultimate strategic petroleum reserve.

Oil companies always wanted to drill there, even back then when crude oil was at $10, $25, $35, $50, $70, $80....

Fortunately, Congress remained stubborn and didn't flinch. Let's at least wait until the Saudis can't pump more.
