      AMD: Chipping Away at Intel
This is a joke, right...??? AMD is virtually bankrupt. If there was any share gain (which I really doubt), it came at the expense of losing huindreds of millions every quarter. How could anyone possibly write a headline like this one given that. Do a little anallysis of AMD's cash vs their burn rate and see what you think.....

"Classmate" is a reference design. Whoever actually builds and markets will undoubtedly call it something else though they might somehow mention Classmate.

Intel's Classmate: Driving HP and Dell to AMD?
Intel will not sell classmates into the commercial marketplace in any meaningful way. Whoever wrote that article in the Phillipines is confused.....

You might want to use Apple instead of Dell for that comparison......I think the HP growth vs Dell is a function of other things (not processors).

      Intel Stock at Clearance Rates
I think Intel is in the best shape product wise and process wise that it has been in for years. They also have trimmed significant $. I also think the US economy is not in nearly as bad shape as the financial media would have you believe. Unless the emerging markets totally collapse (which is highly unlikely) Intel should boom the next few years.

There is so much time to fill on these business news networks that they have to report something. Since they don't appear to know much about the industries they are reporting on, they have to fill the time rambling on about recessions that don't exist and an incredible obsession with the federal reserve.

      AMD: Is The Worst Over?
Actually, I think the worst may be just beginning.....new products already obsoleted, dropping further behind in process technology and running out of cash.

People are actually buying this stock...?????

Wall Street Spanks Bottom of Intel's Rookie CFO
This is a joke, right....???? (above comment)...

Relative to the article, it illustrates that the analysts are not only totally inept but disingenuous. They prove time and time again that they know nothing about the business and, if you don't treat them with kid gloves, they trash your stock. If the SEC is going to investigate anything, it should be the analyst group (and financial media) for fraudulent commentary.

Intel Corporation: A Newly Reborn Monopoly
I went back and looked at the DSG announcement. What they actually said was that same store sales were down about 1%. What they also said (that I have not seen anybody else mention) was that overall sales were up 5%. To me this just suggests that they opened some new stores that cannibalized some sales from existing stores. I can't believe that JP Morgan analyst missed that or failed to understand it's significance....

One purely anecdotal data point: When I sent into my local Costco the day after Christmas, they had 2 (count'em, 2) notebook PC's left. One was Intel powered, the other AMD.

      AMD: The Deep Analyst Divide
Thomas hit the nail right on the head. AMD is falling further behind every day. They are losing half a billion $ every quarter and there is nothing in sight that is going to change that. The oursourcing ruse won't work either. If they do that they will always be a process generation behind Intel and you cannot compete effectively in the MPU market that way. Of course, that is where they are today. I am actually stunned at the naivete of these analysts recommending that people buy AMD. They clearly have no concept of the semiconductor/micropro... business yet they presumably are well paid to do this. AMAZING!!!
