  • What Happened to Crocs? [View article]
Grumann sez, "Does anyone know when insiders can buy the stock?" The problem is all of the insiders have already dumped their stock a long time ago. That was the presage of the problem and at that time _I_ should have taken notice. I didn't and lost a bunch of money. I sold the stock at $32 and boy am I glad. The company is run by inept crooks.

  • How Can Apple Keep the iPod Relevant? [View article]
Relevant? Geez, you haven't walked on a college campus lately, have you. Watch the kids coming out of the buildings. They're either twiddling with their iPods or cell phones (iPhones included at increasing numbers). The "Touch" will keep the iPod going for quite a while. Replacement cycles? Yup, that'll keep sales going as well. Apple is unstoppable for quite some time.

  • Under The Radar News - Friday [View article]
    > this doesn't feel like a saturated market to us." Doing the math reveals
    > Apple (AAPL) managed to convert another 3% of Americans into iPod
    > owners last year.

Think of this number. If just 5% or even 10% of those buyers purchase Macs or iPhones you'll continue to see major upside to this stock and Apple's profits. Not an unrealistic scenario.

  • Three Reasons I Chose Microsoft over Apple for Home Media [View article]
    Top_tier opines:

    > Yet 3 X-Boxes? Give us a break you flipping idiot.

ROTFLMAO. Yes, Mr. Hawk, enjoy your Dell Home Entertainment System. For the year or so before it craters. I'll cut you a break and wait until I see your digital video tour documentary. Will you be producing that on the X-Box?

  • Defending Apple's MacBook Air [View article]
Right on the mark, Carl. Here's the litmus test of the Air. How long will it take to see product placement in a TV show or a movie? This is an elegant product that does have Ethernet access via a USB device, ou can get an external optical drive and yeah, mebbe the flash storage is a bit pricey but it's setting the stage for future, less expensive laptops. This item is another device that will sell for Apple.

  • I Should Have Bought Apple Months Ago [View article]
Don't feel too bad. You're just like every stock "expert" who's been whining about Apple's way-too-high price and P/E ratio instead of just looking at what Apple's doing. Y'know that Halo effect that folks have loved to scoff at? Well yesterday proved you're looking at the manifestation. My son was the first kid in his middle school a while back to have an iPod. Now all of his friends have one and they're even getting iPhones. In high school. My daughter has an iBook in college. Next fall my son will have one when he goes. Look at the stats of Macs on campus. This is the halo effect and it'll be around for a while. I'll go out on a limb and speculate Apple will ultimately settle in at around 20% market share and a stock price of $350 in a few years. Whaddya think?
