If you had followed Cramer's advice since inception, you'd be in the poor house. He's there to entertain and sell books.

  • Gone Nowhere in 8 Years [View article]
The stock market is for the rich! 401k was never intended to be a retirement - was a sub-paragraph. Invest what your employer will match, then stop if you aren't totally out of debt. (no mortgage as well) You need at least $10,000 to invest. You must have protection from job loss and medical coverage. If you don't have at least six months of paychecks in the bank, don't invest. Invest only in a company not a stock. Understand how the company makes money and be able to explain it to your 10yr old.

The only solution is that we use all the different energy sources. We need them all! Each has pro's and con's. It is like a diversified portfolio of energy - the synergy is the best answer.

  • Cramer's Mad Money - Strategies for Staying in the Game (9/4/09) [View article]
Jim gave great advice. Before you invest get out of debt, buy health and employment insurance. I see nothing wrong with joining a investment club and contributing a small amount every month. It is a investment in education.

  • 3 Stocks Providing Positive Shareholder Feedback with Higher Dividends [View article]
Always enjoy your posts as I'm big believer in Dividends. I'm long EMR, HRS, VZ. There are a few firms that stopped or cut dividends that I'm not ready to bail on, yet! PFE, DOW, BBT, TSS. Do you make exceptions to your rules? Or is it "OFF WITH THEIR HEADS"

  • Why Invest in Oil Over Alternative Energy [View article]
Excellent review. You forgot to add the additional uses of oil e.g. plastics. We need to explore all energy solutions as there is not just one good answer. I doubt we will see windmills on the back of any of our cars. Those plug ins require special handling, e.g. extra circuti breakers.

  • Prospects for Electric Cars [View article]
We sure spend a lot of time finding a means to NOT drill for oil. How do you produce electricity? NG, Coal, etc.
What about brown outs if everyone goes to the electric car? What happens to the batteries when they are not longer useable? Dump them where? I'm not sure people have thought this thru yet. Electric cars/ vehicles do have a place but not for the general public yet. 240 mile range is a joke in some parts of the country. It is not as if you have a electric gas station everywhere. Maybe a few wind farms will help.
    Drill baby, drill.

  • 6 High Yield Dividend Stocks You'll Wish You'd Bought [View article]
This sounds like a investment of buying the company not the stock. Not bad for the long term! The downside for dividends is that they are taxable where stock price increase is not. If the 2010 tax laws are allowed to expire, dividend stocks could take a big hit.
