Are you suggesting without private industry, (insurance and pharmaceutical) we wouldn't have ObamaCare?

    RIQ,
Look after the industrial revolution and capitalism, as that is where we are today. The feudal system only worked because it was labor intensive as were the need for indentured servants. You Cherry Pick to prove your point.

    Bob 123,
A post office isn't a liberal view. It is very conservative as I believe it is one of gov't functions. Article I Section 8 Clause 7; give us post offices. So it is a very conservative view to keep it. http://bit.ly/1wsc80f

Medicare will eventually be replaced by ObamaCare if we don't do something. If you currently don't have supplemental insurance you cannot afford to go to the hospital and get medical care. Even if you have supplemental insurance, the paperwork is so overbearing many doctors are refusing it. It is a paperwork nightmare just what the gov't, not the doctor ordered.

    Bush Alert!
What's Obama the current President for 6 years doing? Appointed a liar who claimed to be special forces to head the VA. The 22 suicides is today during Obama's realm. He's still sending people to war. Guess what a drone or a airplane killing others is still war. I cringe at the thought of a American pilot being shot down and burned alive because we don't have boots on the ground.
I don't remember Obama recently taking a trip and feeding the troops on Thanksgiving. I guess the golf course was too important. Of course, he thinks it is more important to cut the defense budget and give it to non-workers.

    Bob123,
Wrong as usual. The gov't didn't invent internet, nor did Al Gore. It was a couple of guys trying to get two PC's to talk to each other.
The USPS is being destroyed because of gov't. Why because Congress won't let the USPS become efficient. It mandates how it interfaces with FEDEX and UPS (neither would exist without the help of the USPS). The innovations attempts like notary services have been killed by Congress. Congress mandates up front funding for pensions and other stuff for the post office.
As far as social security is concerned it was never intended to pay back the money to very many people. The age of 65 was selected when life expectancy was 63. Today it is bias against poor and minorities as their life expectancy is less that the rich white person.
Medicare and Medicaid are a joke. Trying living payday to payday and coming up with the copay for drugs and hospital visits. What ObamaCare has done is driven the poor to ER's for care because they cannot be turned down there.

The FCC did a good thing with phones. Remember Ma Bell and renting you a telephone. In fact, there were some who didn't get the word and were renting their phones for over 50 years. I'm sure we'll get some good rules like that.
Speaking of the FCC, do the censors listen to the words of the songs of today. Some of the rap music would make a sailor blush.

    Xact,
    Right on!!!
People are now voting for a living instead of working for a living.
Obama has surrounded himself with people who have no private business experience. All they know is more gov't.

If TSA can cop a feel before you board a airplane, what prevents the gov't from doing the same before you enter any gov't building? The gov't isn't the solution, it is the problem. I'm far more concerned about the gov't gathering up data and not properly protecting it. Walmart doesn't have any guards on its doors why should the gov't that works for us have any?

We want a stronger immigration program, put more to secure our borders and then allow 5 million illegals to stay, giving them ID's and work permits. But only for the illegals that have been here more than 5 years. We don't want any new criminals just the experienced ones. As automation reduces the amount of labor needed, the additional 5 million will only hurt the middle class worker.

What's our foreign policy. We hitch a ride on a Russian spaceship because we closed down NASA's program and yet we have sanctions against Russia for invading Ukraine. We say it is okay for Iran to help Iraq against ISIL, yet we don't stop Iran from helping Assad and other terrorist. Do we really mean no nukes for Iran or are we just kicking the can down the road for the next administration to handle, while sanctions are in place. We want a stronger relationship with Canada then veto the XL pipeline.

If you have a myopic view of the economy just look at the markets. All is good with record highs. Unemployment is below 6% and inflation is under 2%, no financial crisis any longer, economy is growing so why do we still have zero interest rates? Why doesn't Congress exert more control over the FED?
