  • Who Will Come Out Ahead from e-Book Success in College Classrooms?  [View article]
Apple is going to be the clear winner in this market. Their tablet is going to blow open a whole new category just like the iPhone did in the cellular market, and no one will be able to effectively compete against their platform consisting of a brilliant, stable and easy to use OS, iTunes, laptops, large screen desktops, iPhones, iPods and iTablet. Graphics, imbedded video, interactive capabilities, superior operating environment. Apple is the winner. Period.

  • doubleTwist: An Amazon Powered Alternative to Apple's iTunes  [View article]
I'm sorry but what is the statement "it’s quickly turning into a very appealing solution" based on? Sounds like total BS. First, its only available on the mac platform and mac users are using iTunes and are not about to switch. Secondly, despite all the BS out there, you can easily move your music from iTunes to non-iPod devices already. And as you state, it doesn't have apps, playlists, genius, movies, or video. So again, it will be successful why? You make me LOL...

  • Breakdown Of U.S. Sales Numbers for Broadband Enabled Devices [View article]
I'm sorry, but why are you using the number of "Minutes" of videos the xbox users have downloaded - is it because thats what Netflix and MSFT pr hacks have provided? It is all about how many videos, not minutes. It is a lame attempt to inflate the numbers when Apple is talking about Billions of songs and videos sold, not minutes. And even then xbox is including movie trailers. Please....

  • A Sudden Appetite for Web Based Computers [View article]
The carriers subsidizing computers is the death knell of the industry. The carriers are the commodity service but under this scenario they dictate the market, just like they have in the cell phone industry - suppressing innovation, prohibiting features and services on devices that conflict with their own objectives, ruining the market and driving out profits for the manufacturers - let the consumer be damned pushing the manufacturers to squeeze costs, hold back innovations and accept minimal returns. The computer industry should resist this trend - it is the rush to the bottom that offers no way out from unprofitability, or minimum profits at best. They will lose control of their own destiny. This practice should be illegal. Let the carriers discount THEIR services when you sign up for wireless broadband with your computer instead. That makes much more sense, and is the right business model for the PC manufactures. Otherwise, what is the cost of a new computer? FREE with two years of service. A free product has no value! And the brand is destroyed.

  • The Palm Pre's Coming Out Party [View article]
And thousands of the iphone apps run when you're not on the web, so what is the big deal about this WebOS? As always, Apple will continue to be the innovation leader. As faster processors for phones become available, and better batteries, the superior iPhone OS and Apple ecosystem will continue to kick butt. Agree that RIMM is the one that needs to worry.
