2009 Looking Good for Theravance

I wouldn't worry too much about competition for telavancin. Unfortunately, staphyloccocus and streptococcus and other opportunistic bacterial infections are fierce and relentless enemies of human life, and they will eventually develop resistance even to the current silver bullets. We will need every one of the new heavy-duty antibiotics that pharma companies can get approved. I write as someone who almost died of one of these infections. It is just icing on the cake that telavancin seems to have an efficacy profile superior to vancocin's.
