Goldman Analyst Changes Tune on XM/Sirius Merger Odds
About David V. I figured that what Tie D said is true. It appears that some people will go to any lengths to spam any place they can. I didn't bother to click on the link, and wish that Seeking Alpha would ban any links on this comment section.

As for the article, all I can say is that I am always happy to read any news about the impending, alledged, possible, maybe probable upcoming, mystical merger that might never happen, though I hope it does. I just wish that judges and commissions do too.

      The Coming Battle Over BofA-Countrywide
I'm just happy that GS made 12.75 million to give an opinion. Seems like a lot, but I hope it adds to "their" profits! By law, I think GS is supposed to do what is best for GS stockholders, and I suppose if Countrywide is dumb enough to ask a company's opinion that might have a conflict of interest, then maybe they do need to be bought, and have management burned at the stake, or at least fired.

Sirius Surprises with Q4 2007 Conference Call Announcement
Interesting way of trying to figure out why they are reporting first. But in light of the small chances of a merger so soon, I'm not so sure that this is the reason for the change. Maybe there are other just as plausible reasons. However, I hope you are right.

Cramer to Investors: Stay with Sirius
You're right! I haven't bothered for a long time to see how SIRI is doing in the way of new subscribers, earnings,(or possible less negative earnings). I thought about playing with my shares to average down their cost basis, buying when it goes down a little, selling a few when it goes up a little. But, as you say, I've become more interested in spending my time with other stocks, except for today, Sunday, when I have a little extra time, and it really won't cost me to read about SIRI.
Maybe I SHOULD check out SIRI again just to see how the company is doing!!!

      Status Report: SIRIUS/XM Satellite Radio
Great article! It is quite frustrating, not knowing what's going to happen. Hopefully the DOJ is keeping mum just because they are supposed to, rather than as a sign of an upcoming ruling against a merger. But, of course, that's just wishful thinking on the part of a SIRI shareholder.
Maybe Microsoft will create a satellite radio station! Then SIRI and XMSR could merge!

Walgreen: Attractive Valuation and Growth Story
But along with what I just wrote, I still am not all that interested at this time in investing in any retail stores, but if I went with a drug store, I believe it would be with Walgreens over CVS.

Walgreen: Attractive Valuation and Growth Story
A Walgreens opened near me, but not quite as near as the CVS that I was going to. Now I never go to CVS. No particular reason for this, other than I get a discount on the one prescription drug that I buy. While I wait on it to be filled I often walk around the store and find neat things to buy (that I usually don't really need all that bad).

I also go there to get my film developed, since CVS uses the Kodak machine, and I hate it.

Also, the druggists at Walgreens are really nice, and seem to remember me well, though I only see them once a month.

Now, I could go to Walmart, but since I'm not watching every penny I spend, it's just not worth it to drive the 6 or so miles to Walmart, and spend tons of time parking, finding stuff, waiting forever to have my prescription filled, and then waitng in line to pay. It's great for many people, but Walgreens, CVS, and others definately have their niche. And it's probably with people who read financial news and not People magazine.

      Goldman Gets Downgraded
Title of article is misleading, which I suspected it would be. I have confidence, as the author does, that GS has a way of not only producing consistent good results, they are also great at keeping an eye out for troubles in the future.

I've read much better from Eli. This one didn't really didn't tell me anything new or important. I was hoping for some info on WB that might be helpful in buying or not buying WB on Monday.

Will the Fed Really Cut Rates Twice in One Week?
And I think the Fed isn't so interested if the stock market goes up or not, but rather if more "good" loans are produced getting business going better. And though I trade stocks for a living, I too am more interested in seeing our economy jumpstarted. The stock market will follow soon enough.

If for no other reason, they won't cut rates just to save face. If they cut twice in one week, it says that they made a mistake earlier in the week by not cutting enough. In one week, they won't know if it was enough or not. If they cut again, it will be in a month or more. But then, what do I know? I'm just a caveman.

      Wachovia's Call Is Oustanding
I did own stock in them. I plan to again. I believe that these people have been honest and willing to write off what is necessary to get this subprime mess behind them so that they can go forward with business. I'm really itching to buy into WB again, maybe Monday. Hopefully we'll have another huge drop and I can get it for a bargain.
The price for this stock now is too low, and I would expect it to get to at least 44 dollars by summer.

Oh, and I do hope you are right about WB. I also figured that they wanted to be honest with their report, write off all losses and get on with business. 2008 looks good for WB now, IMHO.
