GM will be allowed to file bankruptcy. If Obama elects to throw the kitchen sink at this, he will immediately doom himself to a 1 term wonder. It will be too late by Jan. 21, 2009, unless GM can fill the coffers of all the republican congress members to persuade them to endorse another multibillion dollar bailout package. Hmmm, maybe king oil will live again?

If ABK and MBI end the year under $1.00 / share, then all new mortgages will require 20%-30% down payment. Interest rates will no longer be tied to the 10 year T-Notes or 30 year T-Bonds, but will depend upon your local Savings and Loans. Rates will probably vary between 14% to 19% with terms not beyond 20 years. Home values will drop 50% or more from today's valuations. Unemployment will triple in the construction trades and the effects of that scenario are too complex to contemplate. Bernake and the FED have a vested interest too make sure that scenario NEVER happens.

All I hear is time to load up on BRIC funds, especially China and India. And that is precisely what I am doing. I missed the beginning of the first boom in China funds and got on board after a 50% rise and still sold in Jan 08 for a tidy 35% net profit. I will NOT miss the beginning of the second go around. I am all in.
