    If you get sick and take medicine, you will be better in a week. If you get sick and just go to bed, you will be better in 7 days.

    All this stimulus is like trying to treat the flu with amphetamines. You may keep the patient up and moving for a while, but you've done nothing good for his overall health, and in fact the end result may be much worse than doing nothing.

    I expect a short-term "improvement" in the economic crisis in the first half of 2009, followed by a nasty hangover in the second half.
