  • More on Realty Income results [View news story]
I don't get why O is down on those results at all. They look solid to me at least.

  • Philip Morris: More Debt Now Here [View article]
I think buying back stock using debt in a low interest environment is a brilliant move. I'm sure they'll stop adding debt when interest rates rise. At that point there won't be any problem, since cash flow is plenty to pay interest, pay the dividend and then there's probably some left over to buy back a little stock.

All in all, I'm loving the capital management PM does.

  • Linn Energy Takes Next Step To Survive And Thrive [View article]
Do you think after this big gain there will be another big gain when the SEC announces the investigation is dropped?

I'm positive the SEC won't find anything wrong with LINN's accounting practice, but if this gain holds up it will probably continue in the next few weeks leading up to the merger, so I wonder if there's any upside when the investigation is closed as well.

  • Rate worries again rout income favorites [View news story]
The dividend yield of O is back on the level it was on in february 2010. The 10-year treasury rate was 3,80%+ back then, that leaves a full percentage point of interest rate rises priced in. Looks like a decent margin of safety to me!

  • The Best ETF Of Our Time (AKA How To Become A Billionaire Without Really Trying) [View article]
Obviously the danger of this investment is that if you're that investor that put $ 30 into this ETF and turned into a billionaire, he could lose $ 900 million in one year. That's quite a risk to take.

  • Berry Petroleum (BRY) has cancelled the shareholder vote regarding the merger with Linn Energy (LINE) and LinnCO (LNCO). BRY -1.3% premarket. There's little action in either LINE or LNCO, but both tanked into the close yesterday. [View news story]
That's what I thought. But since it was brought here as news, I figured maybe they meant the deal would be cancelled.
