he has a iphone. If you used one before, you would know google map turn by turn voice navigation is not available on the iphone, which is why apple made its own.

i own aapl shares and have an iphone... but wanted a 7inch tablet so went for the samsung galaxy 2. Its quality product but nowhere smooth and crisp as the ipad. it definitely reinforced the belief that apple is truly about quality and if i had a choice of 7inch ipad i would probably paid 50 to even 100$ more for it.. to avoid the agony down the road.
the map was never the reason for people upgrading from 4 to 4s. people upgraded. before this map announcement and ppl who did not, wont suddenly upgrade for the map upgrade, rather they will wait for the iphone 5. i doubt people will cry foul and go get an android when the iphone 5 is released
