  • Why Morningstar Doesn't Understand JPMorgan [View article]
Where is it written that Morningstar is going to get it right 100% on the 2000+ stocks they cover? Those folks pour over the balance sheets and give their best shot at what they think the stock is worth. For me, I accept that and do some serious homework before buying any stock out there.
Generally speaking, I am very satisfied with the quality of their work.

  • 4 Qualities of the Best Dividend Stocks [View article]
Good article.. I think your minimum yield standard is way to low in todays market.
" ..2.5% or 1.9% " whoa.. you are in the inflation hole at the git go.
There are many good companies out there today that are paying a lot more with moderate risk.
The dividend is part 1 , there's gotta be price appreciation down the road.
For me, 4% is min. and I have been scooping up those and those with much higher payouts. ( the higher risk is ok with me )
ps. I agree with you on Realty Income.. great dividend company.

  • Merrill's Muddled Analysis: Another Reason I'm Bullish on Financials  [View article]
Ah the chicken littles are still at it Tom.. the sky is falling, nasty name calling, spooky guys hiding behind every door.. humm.
The problem with some of the folks reading SA.. well, they just want the sky to fall so they can say " I told you so ".
I agree with Tom.. I think he is correct in his view point and time will prove him out. Keep up the good work.. thanks.

  • Wall Street Breakfast: Must-Know News [View article]
user155010.. and other folks who think Jim Rodgers is great?
He has called for Frannie & Freddy to fail-uh should fail.., complaining that everyone has committed theft, fraud, etc. When ask by the interviewer if he was short these stocks he said of course. He stated yes he was making money being short but who cared if he was making money?? After all he said, "I have to pay taxes on it".. right!!
He spends his TV time bad mouthing the stocks so he can make his money short..a nice ethical guy.
    just my view..

Excellent article. My stocks are all over the board depending on the boys in newsrooms and the trading floor. My dividends keep coming in every quarter.. I like that.

  • Tanker Stocks: Bargains Here? [View article]
Northquarter1.. you ask about FRO.. it's trading at its 52 week high with most of that gain coming in the last 45 days! For me, never buy any stock trading at its high or even close to it.. unless you have a monetary death wish.

Hey Cartledge.. lighten up.. the man is giving us food for thought. He likes the shippers and is suggusting that someone out there should take a look.. it works for me.
    A Missouri boys view.

  • Abusive Comments, Blog Aggregators and Freedom of Speech [View article]
One of the reasons I check in with this web site is usually it's devoid of moronic comments and personal " slicing and dicing ".

When I see these kinds of personal abuses I discount this persons views.. they carry zero weight with me.
The problem with filtering comments is who gets to do the filtering?
In the end we only see what the " filter " wants us to see.. not good. Lets hope that these folks become bored and move on.
    ...just a Missouri boys view.

KRANKY, If I'm reading you correctly.. you are " kinda " down on Wal-Mart.
I think this site is better served by omitting your political views and stay with the numbers, PEG, P/E, etc. Just a Missouri boy view.

  • Morningstar's 'Vastly Superior' ETF Research? [View article]
Good comments.. for me, I " shop around " I cross reference with several sources, my brokerage house, morningstar, etc. to see how their data, analysis matches up and then add \ substract info... make a decision.
It works for me. *Please note, no one should pay any attention to me. I own Citi and most of the bank stocks.. + XHB.
