RBC Analyst: Strong Demand for iPhone 2.0
I'm rooting for a great keynote and rise to $200+, but that's only "cheap thrills". The stock might tank whether or not the new benefits are mkt share fuel.

Makes no difference to me, because I'm in for the 'long' haul over the next 2 years. There are no challengers to Apple's tech and CE dominance. Apple will win any market it attacks: smartphone, iPod/music/media, desktop, laptop, education, SOHO: bring it on.

Apple will nod to $300 on it's way to a mkt capitalization topping the charts.

Apple's iChat and China: The Perfect Marriage
Great visioning. The PPS impact will be enormous; at least $20 PPS almost immediately on announcement and rising from there as the revenue steamrolls into the qtrly rpeorts.

Video iChat will be delivered soon by Apple ASAP, but the tech may not be ready next week. Looking forward to its arrival and let the good times roll!

Are High Expectations Apple's Biggest Challenge?
Hey. Take 3 or 4 steps into your Apple position over 2 or 3 months. If you're watchful and committed, it will all turn out. Now, hold that position for the next 3 years (at least).

This is the Age of Apple (and Google). The 90s were MSFT's. Apple is dominantly ascendant and, like Woods, Apple has incredible mental game and is determined to stay dominant.

Apple is in a class of it's own in product innovation, marketing prowess, OS quality, OS security, webstore and product 'stickiness', customer service and support, and leadership excellence. What's not to likke?

Look at the big picture. Buy into it. Wait. Smile!

Apple: How Big Is the Potential iPhone Market?
Keeping it simple for some posters: iPhone has a good chance of repeating iPod dominance in the Smartphone category. That could work out to between 12M and 16M in 2008, between 25M and 45M in 2009, and so on (you do the math).

What are the drivers: marketing, technical, visionary, and innovative excellence, each unmatched on the planet. Apple is the Tiger Woods of tech. Any questions?

Can Apple Double Its iPhone Sales Goal?
The iPhone fireworks are just beginning. By Xmas, iPhones will be everyone's special gift, just as the iPods before it.

Apple's 'discovered' people will beat a path to your door if you can guarantee 'delight'.

Seems I can't think of another high tech company that reliably delivers the big D. You?

      Get over it.

In the big scheme of things, this not that 'evil'; embarrassing yes, but evil no.

In the adult world this is called being 'diplomatic'. You don't want to throw lye in their eyes by signing your name, but you do have an opinion you want aired.

Evil is what msft did to IBM's OS/2, Apple's Mac OS, Netscape, and several other trusting groups back in the good old days before they were convicted of thuggery.

Remember, it was a msft exec who said (in a moment of candor) to a dead opponent, 'You had a great product and strategy. The only thing you did wrong was to trust us!"

Now, that's evil. MSFT wins in a slam dunk!

Could iPhone Subsidies Be Apple’s Ticket to Mainstream USA?
I'd like Apple to sell the iPhone for $200 more than it does now with the customer getting a $200 rebate from ATT subscription charges. In this way, the unlockers help Apple's bottom line because their extra $200.

Is User Apathy About Smartphones Becoming Apparent?
      Dean,

"...who buy Apple (AAPL) iPhones because, well, they're iPhones..."

If you're suggesting that they buy the fad or the glitz, think harder, my friend. The iPhone actually is the world's 1st and only enjoyable, powerful, reliable, mobile/pocket computer. It will be the platform of choice for mobile apps, soon to number in the thousands.

The iPhone is not a fad, it's an unassailable engineering and marketing marvel.

You're pretty close about the 'smartphone apathy' ; how about 'smartphone disgust'? Of course, the iPhone is often described with words like 'lovely', 'great', 'I want one.', 'can't wait'...

      Your assignment: compare and contrast!

That would hit the nail on the head.

      The iPhone-BlackBerry Showdown Continues
      @tom1234

The old data on sales per sq ft ws $4600/ft, in a class by it's own compared to something like $800/ft (???) at Best Buy.

Given the last qtr returns on the retail division (up 50%), I guess the $4600 est will be revised to $6000+/ft, which comes from another universe.

      The iPhone-BlackBerry Showdown Continues
Comparing: RIMM is a one trick pony and they have about 3 years to develop another trick(s). Apple is a beast that knows multiple tricks and is known to be developing others.

The problem for RIMM (and MSFT) is Apple's tricks are incredibly dollar and time costly to match. For openers, think Std and mobile OS & apps, music, movies, TV shows, user interface, global marketing, and ongoing innovation.

I'm sorry. It's nothing personal guys, but the game's over. Apple has been quietly at work for years, developing and perfecting their tricks; Apple dominates for the next 5 years, at least.

It ain't even close. Michael Jordan against some wanna bes.

Is an iPhone Air Hybrid in the Works?
      mlambert890,

There's a ton of $$$$ to be made on being long (long term) with Apple. You ought to take a clear look at what makes this stock tick (assuming you really are an investor).

If you're in it for the $$$$ take good note of Apple's:

      - world leading retail, customer support, and brand

      - dominance of downloaded music and mp3 players

      - exploding uptake of notebooks, desktops, and mobiles

      - growing consumer and business movement from WIndows to Mac OSX

      - wheezing, near death, Vista

      - Google and open source distracting msft from targeting only Apple

      - Msft declawed by legal concerns

      - iPhone going viral in 53 (and counting) countries w/ 600M subscribers

This list is not exhaustive. Why don't you take another look and consider betting on the long side?

What's Next for Apple: 3D Gaming?
      Bajaman,

This is a simple long term strategy applicable only to beastly Apple:

0 - Learn all you can about options and LEAPS.

1 - Using a little of your money:

2 - Buy some 2010 LEAPS near or out of the money.

3 - Hold onto them as long as you see no change in the fundamentals of Apple.

4 - Sell them when Apple hits 250 in the next year.

      5 - Smile while counting $$$$$!

      Stiphy,

I'm not a programmer, just an investor, but I'm hearing from many tech blogs and mainstream media that developing in XCode is a charm.

Any switcher programmers out there who wish to comment on their experience leaving stiphy's dvlpmnt environment and moving to Apple's?
