Baidu: A Train Heading for Derailment?
No, they are required to file 10Ks, and insider trading that
crosses the 5% ownership mark. A low sequential increase
in the number of customers isn't significant because Q1 is
cyclically a slow quarter, on par with the previous Q4.
TAC increase is the only negative in their report.

Will China Become the New Silicon Valley?
China's per-capita GDP is still 1/12th that of the US. That is what
is getting in the way of innovation - not the imagined failings of a
culture or political system. Innovation will come with time as people
get richer and can afford to be different.

Earnings Beat Rates and Key Reports
No. But it should, and has, gotten the stock back to the level
it was at before guidance was lowered.

      Baidu: Good Short Candidate
Goldman is amusing. They come up with a fresh, new reason
every quarter to bash the stock. Law of large numbers for
a $250 million company? GS started with too high
valuation, moved on to competition impact, then margin
issues, and now the law of large numbers.

Baidu Beats Street, but Guidance Falls Short
The guidance, by itself, isn't an issue - the snowstorm is a
once-in-a-generation thing. Earnings for Q4 were stellar.
On the CC, the VP seemed fairly confident a US recession
wouldn't impact the Internet search market since it is still
      in its infancy.

Google Taking Lion's Share of Search Market
      Baidu's share is up 1.1%, measured world-wide, in a month? I
certainly consider Baidu a very solid company and a great growth
story. But that increase looks very high. Is there a chance
ComScore is increasing its penetration in China, and better
reflecting China's portion of the global Internet?

"Google continues to make great strides in China."
The numbers don't bear that out. The margin by which they
trail Baidu in revenue market share widened from Q2 to Q3 2007.
The margin by which they trail in search market share widened
even more (Baidu has almost 74% according to CNNIC).
That single sentence weakens your entire article.
