eBay Beats Estimates, But Guidance Disappoints
Yes, all the CEOs went to Ivy League schools and learned the same exact truisms: Act bearish when bear appears, wait for the train to pass when crossing the railroads...guide lower so you can surprise higher next time and buy stock cheaper.

Jeremy Grantham: Hold Cash, Not Stocks
Another bear mumbles for attention, dusting off its crappy mediocre returns and hoping to get into the spotlight. Sometimes I wonder why we give outlet to these privileged come-late-to-party blue blood dudes to waste our time? Where was he in the summer, where was he in October when the market topped? Now, he is pointing to the winter and telling me " It snows". Obviously his firm has some heavy shorts, that's all. The third award for " late for the party" goes to Grantham, and yes I may step into your office and tell you why Ken Heebner has outperformed you for almost every year in the last 20 years.

Think This is a Bear Market? This is Nothing!
Mark, the Fed made a clear signal to "get out of your savings account and put the money to work". This bear will not equal the previous one because the previous one destroyed everything and this one previous bull was not that tall.

      Hewlett-Packard Looks Recession-Proof
I doubt it. If this turns out to be a recession, HP will go down with the rest of the recession-proofed stocks. This is an oxymoron. Rob,

Be careful with this stock. The volatility here is not for everyone, I want to warn traders, that regardless fundamentals, there are already leading stocks in the field, (so this would be the Earthlink case versus AOL.)

I think cheap is in the eye of the beholder. The stock will correct at least 20% just like the entire economy does. :)

The market will eventually get to these stocks too. Same with oil, which will have its leaders hammered out. And then it will revert back to the next bull. All in the waiting... Rob

Facebook is boring. MySpace is overcrowded and done. Linked-In is weak. We need better applications for the 30+ and whoever gets that- will make a lof of money.
