      Buffett Buys GE, Goldman: Should You Follow?
      I have a position in GE and could care less about the financial arm of the company. Why? Because GE is uniquely positioned to confront, worldwide, the most pressing problems of the near-term future: Alternate energy, potable water, energy distribution systems, and the all-important after-the-installation maintenance of these 'Green technologies'.

      Tangible book value is an illusionary measure as far as stocks are concerned, because on liquidation, the company's assets go to bondholders, bank debt, etc., and the shareholder is last in line...

      WIA: A TIPS Fund for the Conservative Investor
      I am retired, and heavily invested in TIPS through an ETF. The CPI is meaningless, as real inflation is running at about 12%, according to my calculations. As long as TIPS is tied to the CPI, they do not provide the protection that is advertised. I regret my investment decision, and unfortunately, cannot identify a 'safe haven' for my dollars.
