  • WSJ: Nokia to launch Android phone as Microsoft deal closes [View news story]
This is obviously something they tinkered with for whatever reason, might as well see if you can recoup any costs with it. This thing is going to be very low end, a rival to Asha maybe.

    nothing to see here folks

  • Sony reportedly in talks to sell PC ops, shares jump [View news story]
The problem isn't with Windows, there is more then enough new functionality in Windows 8 as opposed to 7. However, nobody is building anything to take advantage of the new functionality. And why? Because the consumers have gotten, quite frankly, dumber. There is no need for cutting edge computers because people have stopped using them to learn, empower themselves and develop. They have become toys to keep kids out of their parents hair.

Man you guys are so clueless. Nobody is using IOS or android for anything important, and this won't be changing any time soon. Neither one will make any kind of dent in the enterprise, they aren't capable or compatible with any of the software that does anything productive. Android and IOS run toys, nothing more.

  • Apple: Cheap iPhone Now Appears A Certainty [View article]
The "problem" with apple is that all of the people that are interested in owning an iPhone, more or less, already have one. Now I put quotes around problem, since I and Apple for that matter don't see it as a problem. They have always been a niche company, and it is pretty obvious to me that it I more important to them that they keep their customers happy and refreshing, then go after ones that don't fit their niche. And they make a killing with this strategy.
this "problem" is one of wall streets creating.

  • Microsoft: Strong Quarter, But Priced In? [View article]
Microsoft's products make the world go round. By its stick at every market correction. Sell puts on down days. Shorting the stock of a company who's products are literally in every building in the developed world is crazy. Shorting a company who has its fingers in every part of the tech industry and is leading in most, is ludicrous.

    long Microsoft

  • Intel's Bold Tablet Gambit [View article]
If you need windows, then you need windows, there is no real alternative. When do you NEED Android? I would say never. If the developers would get off their @$$3$ and finish fleshing out the windows store, this thing would be irrelevant. I chalk it up to a stop gap until such time as the windows store is complete.

  • Apple's A8 -- What It Will Be And Why It Matters [View article]
Without x86 appLICATIONS, an iPad is still just a toy that runs apps. An Ipad pro wouldn't be very helpful. Now if Apple released a "surface" like iMac, that ran IOS apps, this would be a true game changer.

ARM and the OSes that run on it, have always been just a stop gap to the era if true mobile computing which is just beginning. You can get tablets and convertibles that run a full windows install and are capable of doing actual work for less then an iPad now (venue 8 and 11). The next generation if Intel powered windows convertibles will seal the deal. The iPad era is ending. I'm sure Apple is aware of this.

  • Intel: The Asus Transformer Duet Is A Great Implementation Of Dual OS [View article]
Android (and IOS) have always been a stop gap to the point where we can have true computing in mobile form. These days are almost here. If developers would get off their @$$es and bring apps to windows 8.1 Android's days would be numbered. There is absolutely nothing that you need Android for, but their is tons you need Windows (or OSX) for.

imo if Apple was smart they wouldn't release a "Ipad pro" rather a Mac "surface" type device that had full OSX but you could run IOS apps as well.
