  • Windows 8.1 is available now
You always hear about how most people still use XP, but this is not true. Most people still use XP service pack 2. Windows 8 was good, 8.1 is great.

The difference is it is a tablet that is dissolved under the tongue, therefore is absorbed faster and administered easier.

My mother in law works in clinical trials, and has worked in cancer nursing. I asked her about Neuvax and Abstral. She tells me that they are very excited about Neuvax and confirms that it is a drug that addresses an area where their is no current drugs available. She also tells me that Abstral is the go-to drug for its addressable market. As such I will be opening a position in Gale immediately.

  • Microsoft: Why Lumia Earnings Barely Matter  [View article]
The push into low cost phones is directly aimed at the enterprise. If you can buy a box of Lumia 520's for you employees, and have them seamlessly integrate into your existing infrastructure, you do so. I expect to see the 5xx line spread like cancer through corporate America once the BBRY implosion is complete. In this way, windows phone becomes part of the most around windows stranglehold on the enterprise, and that is what they are trying to do. In the future I believe you will see a docked Surface Pro on every desk, and some form if Lumia on every hip in corporate America.

  • Exploring Intel's Manufacturing Leadership  [View article]
The A7 is going to force Apple's competitors to use the next best thing. Its just up to Intel to provide that, and it looks like they are either there or very close.

Imo, the A7 strengthens Intel's position.

  • Intel: Apple's A7 Chip Reveals Dangerous Trend  [View article]
The A7 is a major boon for Intel, as Apple's competitors are now going to need better processors to compete. If Intel can provide that then the advancement by Apple could force their competitors, who have larger market share then Apple, to use their chips.

Assuming that everyone else can do what Apple has just done, as well, and in a cost effective way is a bit of a stretch. If their was a chip that could compete on the shelf, why bother with the massive costs of designing your own?

  • Apple Versus Intel: What's Going On Here?  [View article]
This is actually a good thing for Intel. Getting into the iPhone or ipad was always in doubt, imo, besides market share for those products is declining. However, this giant leap by Apple, will only put pressure on their competitors to use the "next best thing", which we see is Intel.

Intel doesn't need to be in iOS if it can dominate android and windows, and these benchmarks show that those vendors will need to step it up to stay competitive. The A7 is a boon to Intel.
