  • Take Advantage Of Facebook Lockup Expirations With Put Options [View article]
FB's current float is closer to 420 million shares, not 1 billion. Zuckerberg doesn't own most of the shares but since he owns Class B shares with 10 votes to the share (Class A shares out in the market have 1 vote) he has effective control of the business for as long as he wants. He sold about $1 billion worth of stock at the IPO, which even in California is enough to live comfortably.

If you're betting on FB to fall during each expiration period, why not just purchase puts or execute a put spread? The only options strategy in the article was to write covered calls on shares.

  • Facebook Investors: Your Nightmare Has Just Begun [View article]
Interesting...PrivCo was wrong on the short-term "buy" rating (I think it remains to be seen whether their long term "sell" rec is accurate, tho in this day and age when long term means holding a stock for a whole month, PrivCo is certainly on the right track).

As one of the opening day purchasing fools of FB, selling covered calls on the weekly options has personally eased my pain of owning FB stock.

Omigod, I feel like I'm reliving fourth grade. I would love for P4D and Kevin to post trades side-by-side. Chances are, we'd see two relatively profitable/successful strategies for trading options.

Kevin, Do you know if FB will trade weekly options, or just monthly? Been reading your articles and tracking stocks and will likely dive in soon. Great info. Thank you!

  • Lessons From Earnings Plays [View article]
It would be interesting to see a comparison to the above chart with a couple charts of identical stocks showing both 3-day and 5-day pre-earnings performance of ATM straddles. To your article's point, the PCLN straddles for next week will cost $6,000+ (as of Friday's close) to execute one. There's a reason you truly get rich selling options, not buying them.
