  • Spectrum Pharma: Zevalin Has Blockbuster Potential [View article]
The pancytopenia caused by Zevalin should be of particuilar concern. Recall the story of using radioactive phosphorus in Polycythemia Vera....P32 has subsequently been shown to cause acute leukemia and other myeloproliferative disorders.....sure, there is a rather long latent period, but who wants to survive NHL only to get leukemia?

  • Spectrum Pharma: Zevalin Has Blockbuster Potential [View article]
My comment somehow got cut off; trying to say that a reason Zevalin has not had wider use is that I think it requires a special license to handle and administer it, as it is radioactive. Thus, the treating oncologist has to refer the patient to a radiotherapist in most cases.

  • Entertainment Property: Long-Term Outlook Remains Favorable  [View article]
Water parks and racetracks have little in common with movie theatres. Management has strayed from their core competency. Their theatres are 100% occupied. Management here is suspect, imho.

  • Two Good REITs: Regency Centers and Equity Residential [View article]
There are a number of solid companies in the strip center sector. AKR has been doing a considerable amount of development in the New York metropolitan area; EQY is looking to expand out of its southern concentration and the board chairman has been making large insider purchases; And, of course there is KIM, expanding into Canada, Mexico and Chile. Reits are trading at historically large discounts to NAV.

  • ICF: The Surprising Rise of REITs in a Real Estate Downturn [View article]
It should be pointed out that besides being limited to the realty "majors", this ETF is market cap weighted; its performance this year is all the more impressive in that I believe it does not invest in healthcare Reits, one of the best performing Reit sectors.
