while the article is pretty good, i don't think investing in TIPS is the correct solution.

one reader mentions investing in MLPs - PWE and some others are not MLPs, they are Canadian Income Trusts

I'd expect a better analysis from someone which a PHD. and I'd expect them to recalibrate the current CPI to 30 years ago.

And maybe even an explanation of how the world's inflation has been running at 5-7% for past several years and the USD has been devaluing and the US's inflation is still 2-3% under the world's inflation level. Now that's real magic!!!!

How do you know he wasn't selling Calls?

a bear call spread doesn't sound too risky to me. especially if you've
been investing for 50 years and have seen all the different aspects in
the market.
