  • The Fed Is Backed Into A Corner With No Way Out [View article]
It's good to think a little from first reading your article. The Fed does not want to reverse policy, but after reading John Mauldin's article on "The Lion in the Grass",It could still reverse course if that hidden Lion pounces. The unforeseen.

  • We Have Finally 'Climbed Out Of The Jobs Hole'...Really? [View article]
Goldstriker I share your sentiments , but any manufacturing resurgence not only is, but will be built on the labor of machines run by robots, not only here but all over the world.
Further, Chinese wages have been rising and even Chinese companies are outsourcing to Vietnam and Thailand.Further in the field of robotics, Foxconn, the company that builds Apple iPhones in China is planning on adding 1 million robots to assemble the iPhone and eliminate human jobs.
Manufacturing will grow , but what to do with all the people all over the world, with no work ?

A single payer system makes sense until you realize the Federal would run it.
Does that make any sense ?How many people believe the Federal Government can run ...well...anything with any level of efficiency.

Spot on,the Fed will do everything they can to support the dollar.Tapering means support for our markets will rely on the continued support of the Japanese carry trade.Man, what a convoluted mess the dependance on Central Banks creates for markets.

  • Ted Dixon: What Gold Stock Insider Trading Tells Us [View article]
Keep in mind the Fed needs to keep the USD up now to support the Yen carry trade in the winding down of QE.There needs to be plenty of cheap money to keep markets afloat. The Fed will say or do anything to keep the dollar up including continued manipulation of gold prices....manipulation by the Fed...nah, doesn't happen in free markets....hmmmm.

  • Competitors Are Like Piranhas Chewing Up Apple [View article]
I often remind people of the comparison of Apple and Porsche, however Porsche and Mercedes Benz are both offering entry positions with lower priced cars than previously before. Those car companies see the benefit of having lower priced cars as entry to an aspirational brand.

Granted that overall phones are very similar in attributes, appearance, etc. However, as my geeky son tells me he has tried the HTC,and Xiaomi, phones and finds the functionality not as good as Apple OS .Android apps were buggy, slow, and lagged. He went back to iPhone.
Anecdotal, yes but a common view amongst those that can afford an Apple product

  • In Praise Of Clear Thinking Over Blind Modeling [View article]
To me it seems that much regulation is designed to stifle competition in the market place.Large corporations lobby politicians and supply cash for campaigns to ensure that regulations pass that will make it more difficult and expensive for competition to emerge for these large corporations.Regulatio... follow the money.

  • Europe: Deflation Still Remains The Issue And The Euro Continues To Rise [View article]
I submit that items that everyone buys, like food and energy are rising ,and effect not buying of other goods and services, hence deflation of those other goods.
    Not a pretty picture.

  • Apple iWatch: A Big Deal Or Not? [View article]
A watch in most cases, just does one thing, and not surprising that some do not wear one. An iwatch will be more than that, but how much more remains to be seen. However, as part of the baby boom generation, a vey large group, the bio metric applications could be huge.Being able to monitor blood pressure and sending that info to a doctor could be very beneficial.
