  • CorMedix: Strong Sell On Partner Failure, Misleading Data And Paid Stock Promotion, -91% Downside [View article]
To anyone owning this stock: Anytime there is controversy surrounding a stock, it may be better not to own it. Why speculate when there are so many great companies to own? HOPE IS NOT A WINNING STRATEGY!

  • My Top 3 Fabulous Pharma Stocks [View article]
Sadly, after practicing 20+ years I have confirmed my suspicions! Most Americans want to take as many drugs AS THEIR DOCTOR WILL GIVE THEM! ( and go to the store for many more OTC drugs)
This habit is reinforced by hospitals, drug companies, and the press through tv and newspaper ads. This drives a huge billion(or trillion) dollar industry.
Yes, America is hooked on drugs. Our drug use has risen exponentially over the past two decades. Please invest where America puts its money!
As Baylor trained MD, my opinion is that many of these drugs are totally unnecessary and do harm to the patient with their many side effects and high costs!
Readers, please stay off of unnecessary drugs, but invest in the companies. Great article!

  • Canada - Significant Untapped Oil Production [View article]
goalkick, dude,..... All that oil was upgraded to sweet crude, then transported by rail or alternative pipelines. It is now in your gas tank and you are burning it on your way to work. If you think that bitumen is still in CANADA, (or somewhere else) you need to study its final destination. (hint ... it all gets to the USA and refineries all over America , where it is refined into your gasoline)

Keystone was a political trap. My sources tell me that all that OIL (UPGRADED TO SWEET CRUDE) is being delivered to the USA by other sources. ie. other pipelines and trains.

  • The Silliness Of Tesla's 10kWh Back-Up Battery [View article]
Wow! Conflicted are we? Why not have both, in case the batteries run low?

Why not have a generator for back up to the batteries? Costs money? Yes, energy will cost money, whatever the source.

  • Netflix: Street Applauds Disastrous Financial Results [View article]
I have been investing heavily in the stock market far 20+ years. These spikes in stocks with little or no earnings reminds me of the tech craze of 1999 when stocks grew to infinity on fantastical earnings projections. Netflix, AMZN, and facebook remind me of these tech stocks which crashed, or disappeared, in the early 2000"s.
It will take a recession to bring these stocks back to real values in the market. That may be years away.
I have been burned by trying to short this market.

  • Vale: Short Interest Touching New Highs [View article]
I have bought and sold shares in VALE for many years (previously RIO). .... ...When there is "blood" in the streets..... I am convinced that this is the time to buy VALE for a slow, long recovery. It may be 3-5 years for a recovery to ....$30-$40 /share range.

Remember investors, this is a cyclical industry. The time to buy is near the bottom of the cycle! I am expecting many shorts to cover at the 5-6 range. All shorts must eventually buy back. A typical short squeeze will boost the stock very rapidly above $10.00/share. This is a valuable and well run company, which is being run down by a combination of factors: currency weakness in Brazil, crash of iron ore prices, and fraud at Petrobras which is bringing down the stock market in general in Brazil.
As a 20 year investor(with some wisdom and a little luck), this stock should be a 5 "bagger" over the next 3-5 years. Hold on for the ride!!

Full disclosure. I have bought as many shares as possible over the past month in the $5.50 -$6.20 range.

  • Exxon Mobil starts production at Gulf of Mexico gas development [View news story]
You are correct. I thought everyone who writes about oil and gas knew that. If it is not written correctly, it looks like a very low production well.

  • Vale: Forget The Noise And Think Long Term [View article]
I have followed VALE for almost 15 years. We are at a ten year low in a cyclical industry. We MAY BE near the trough; or we may be within a wide U shaped drop in the stock. Is there blood in the streets?
If you check CLF: yes, that stock is crushed! VALE is doing relatively well, due to lower cost production than Cliff (CLF).
This stock will recover, with time and patience, to historical earnings and to a more historical price. This may take several years of holding and waiting for this cyclical stock to recover.
This recovery price should be in a range of $25-$30.

That would be a 5X winner from the current price of $5.68.(3-31-2015). I have recently bought 12K shares and am willing to sit on these shares for years, if necessary.
    Hang on to your hats!

  • Seadrill: What I Learned From Chasing Yield [View article]
WE have lots of comments on this one. Offshore drilling is cyclic. It trends up and down. These drillers; SDRL and RIG and the others, will return to make money in the future. AS an investor, the most difficult lesson for me is patience. With time, most of these companies will return to former glory. In offshore drilling, this return may be 2016-2017, but it is still supply and demand. This balance will return. Hold on to your stocks for the long term.

  • Alon USA Partners Is An Excellent Income And Growth Proposition [View article]
Refiners like Alon require patience. They are volitile, but have high yield at times. I am buying for the distribution. Buy on the dip and enjoy the ride! If they drop, wait a few quarters and they will come back. I follow and own NTI and ALDW. Happy investing!

  • Peak Oil In The Rest Of The World [View article]
Our cars , buses, jet planes, motorcycles, generators, and factories drink the oil and oil products. We drink it when we drink out of a plastic cup. Yes, oil is vital for our food and drinks. Due to production of fertilizer, we would starve without it . Oil and oil products are used to make drugs, as well, which Americans take every day. I do not think the average American realizes the many uses of oil in our society. We are very "thirsty" for oil and it is an unquenchable thirst that is growing yearly and will continue until all the oil is gone!
