  • Seadrill: Why This Stock Is Undervalued And Should Be Owned By Every Investor [View article]
Good article. For SDRL to continue it's growth and dividends, it must continue to have rig utilization above 90-95 %. I own it for the dividends, but cannot bring myself to buy more, due to my concern over it's large debt. It is also vital for oil prices to remain high in the $100 range. It is these questions that remind me to remain well diversified: with no more than 5% of my investments in any one stock. Happy drilling!

  • Retirement Strategy: Short The S&P 500? Are You Crazy?! [View article]
He is suggesting that we do not listen to the negative shorts, but buy dividend stocks. Thank you for your article.
Yes, there are always those that are "gloom and doom" and scared of the market. As a stock invester for 20 years, please do not be scared to invest in stocks. It's your retirement and your reward!
There is wisdom in buying stocks that pay dividends. Investors, collect your dividends and reinvest those dividends and watch your money grow.

  • Solar Energy Poses A Threat To The Shale Gas Revolution [View article]
Bottom line.......1. solar does not work at night. 2, . we have no good way to store electricity in large amounts to provide electricity during night time or cloudy days. 3.. natural gas and coal are cheap and plentiful 4.solar does not work during cold , snowy, winter days and nights when we need large amounts of electricity. 5. there are not many sunny hours at northern latitudes. 6. solar power needs government money to be profitable. All of these factors create many problems standing in the way of the future of solar power.

  • Petrobras Is Improving As An Investment [View article]
Petrobras is trading at 5 year lows and may be a good buy. It's PE is less than 10 (7-8). It will also pay a dividend next quarter (3%), if it follows last years div. schedule. This stock is not for the faint-hearted, but has upside of almost 100%. They are sitting on a huge pre-salt oil-field as well as other large offshore gas and oil fields.
Every investor who invests in energy should look at PBR.

  • Intuitive Surgical: Game Over Or Game Just Begun? [View article]
This technology is so expensive that many hospitals will hesitate to buy new systems. Watch the headlines; if new malpractice lawsuits emerge, this stock will drop. This is a great technology, but to cut expenses, some hospitals may shut down the robot.
    This stock is high risk.

FNMA and FREDDIE-MAC shareholders were wiped out. All shareholders and bondholders were reduced to Zero in 2008. We were not saved.

  • Mr. Market Discounts Petrobras 50%, Time To Buy [View article]
You are correct. We , as long term investors, have seen this before. A good company gets knocked down severely, but eventually recovers to prior levels. The question is, obviously, how far down and for how long? My wise, investing father always reminds me; " have patience, the stock will recover. "
For me, the most difficult part of investing is to wait for the inevitable recovery of a stock price to occur. I am still learning to have patience!
My opinion is buy, buy, buy! This stock is a gift.

  • Here's Why I've Changed My Tune And Decided To Go Long On Shares Of Annaly Capital [View article]
Do you see the trend upward in NLY and AGNC ? These , and IVR, are moving upward on higher volume. Also, what's his name , at Doubletree, has consistently recommended NLY over the past 6 months. From a technical standpoint, it looks like an uptrend has taken hold and pain may be over. These high dividend stocks may move upward as investors look for yield. This stock looks like a buy and hold for this year, while we all collect dividends! Thank you for the article !

  • The Bubble In Blue Chips - Part 1 [View article]
On cnbc today, they were talking about possible bubbles in the tech market. This was due to GOOGLE GOING OVER $1000 per share. I believe that when you start asking about bubble, that is a sign of a bubble. This is the 5th year of an expansion. It is time for a pullback, maybe even a recession. Everyone, please be defensive and hold cash, bonds and dividend paying stocks.

  • Vanguard Natural Resources Has Something Linn Energy Doesn't Have [View article]
I think everyone who reads this site understands that MLPs provide K-1s; and we send those with our return to the IRS each year. The author need not respond to any insulting comment or those that do not ask legitimate questions. Thank you for your analysis of VNR. I have been very interested in this stock due to it's high payout. My concern, like many others is, can this payout be sustained for many years?

  • Utilities - Today's Best Bond Alternative [View article]
    Chuck to Chuck,
Please keep on writing about utilities and other similar bond- like stocks, which slowly grow and pay predictable dividends. After trading for 20 years and getting slaughtered on two market pullbacks (2000 and 2008), I am approaching retirement.
I do not have the earning power to recover after another stock crash like 2008! I see the wisdom of buying utility stocks at the right time and holding. I am impressed with their ability to hold up during a recession, which will inevitably occur every few years.
Keep up the good work! chuck anderson

  • American Capital Agency's Mid-Q3 2013 Composition And Valuation Analysis - Part 2 (Derivative Portfolio) [View article]
Thank you for your anaysis. I am a dividend investor and AGNC is one of my current buys. It appears that it is trading below book value and as long as AGNC can support a dividend near $1.00 , I will continue to buy on the dips. I look forward to part 3 of your analysis. I am concerned about their ability to continue the dividend at the current level. Can you address that issue in your next report?

These low price, obscure, and low volume stocks are almost impossible to borrow and short. Why not write about stocks which we can actually short ? There are lots of high flyers in the market!

  • Is Cliffs Natural Resources A Good Investment Over Vale SA? [View article]
AA, in response to "talking heads talking trash". Do you believe that these articles that evaluate company fundamentals are trash talk? If so, you need to move to another forum. Fundamental analysis of a company, including financials and estimates of future earnings, are a difficult and time consuming process. If you do not agree, then move on....
