  • AMD Will Retain An Important Business - Part 2 [View article]
Another example of a conspiracy theory that has no place here. Executives get paid well, there is no relevancy to this information. John Byrne reports to Lisa Su, she is excellent by the way, AMD clearly wants to keep him....(retention bonus) so what! You are now implying that upper management is taking money from AMD for nothing before they go out of business. This is ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous. Move on Sand there is nothing here for you, there is no point to be made with conspiracy theory's.

    "is that wowing you"

what....uhhh okay good one xx I guess, at least you get your own witty banter.

Go to another article discussion, go read up on some stuff, make yourself some money, the AMD bashing is pointless. You have relentlessly made your point, its fine you really dislike this company...okay move on.

I'm sick and tired of your delusional rants, You just troll these AMD comment sections day in and day out. I come back after a week and you have just posted the same message on every AMD topic, everyday, that is trolling and it needs to stop.

You have said it yourself, you have no stake in AMD, you will have no stake in AMD. You said that your posts are constantly removed, clearly you are unwanted. You're an irritant, go away. You troll these topics and it should not be allowed, you have nothing to add, you should be banned from posting on SA.

You barge in and intentionally divert the subject away to your repeated and very old and tired rant. Stop posting, please leave. Something is off with you and its time to take it elsewhere, this is not a place for conspiracy theory's and bad blood. Move on.

    Sand

Kinda sick how you relish in watching people lose money, you cheer for it, pretty disgusting actually. Not sure what motivates your obsession, but its mentally unhealthy.

Fortunately those who hold the stock will regain their losses in a relatively short period of time.

See what coming, Like selling my position last Q. I have said over and over and over 2H 2015. Yes your opinions about AMD are wrong.

Fib. I sold the remainder of my position last Q after hours around 3.90. I had sold my position 2 other times in the lead up to last earnings. I purchased various times in 2013 at an average of 3.31.

I knew the hype was deflating out of the stock and that increased revenue YoY was built in from design wins, I was also selling to buy Lenovo. I plan on staying out of the stock until 2H 2015 as I am bullish on the short/medium term completion of the turnaround roadmap. That said it will be hard to stay out if they enter into the 2's or very low 3's. The secret semi wins are impossible to predict and GCN roadmap is vague and reactionary. Overall I like AMD, not a good time to enter the stock.

    xx

If I had to guess I would say likely nothing, what is there to hide, strange behavior, fairly transparent.

No change of subject I made a simple point, The roadmap is not important to the street investors in the long term for AMD (I imagine the buys from a few analyst have captured it but it is not moving the market.)

They are not investing in AMD's roadmap through (Zen/K12/Skybridge/GCN) Rest assured as Skybridge approaches the hype will pick up, it will be on the radar. None of that is on the radar as of now. Flat compute in a temporarily boosted PC market is on the radar. You can go ahead and think the street invests long and everyone is a prudent and conservative investor, that's not true. The market operates on short term information, buying and selling based on information gathered Q by Q. It's how the system is set up and that mentality is multiplied in tech.

What hole, no one has ever been in a hole arguing with you regarding AMD. I'm fine thanks, it's nice up here.

The hole you find yourself in day in and day out is writing negative posts about a company that you have no investment interest in, that you clearly dislike. To what end.....there is numerous other investment opportunity's. We get you don't see the roadmap, don't believe the roadmap, ARM is useless, the books suck, management is in a conspiracy to ruin shareholder value, GloFlo sucks, TSMC sucks, competitors are better and so on. So move on go put your energy into something that will make you money.

Kaveri, their flagship APU was first released on PC, and has found more success on PC opposed to laptops. The AM1 platform is PC and was another big push APU product. (new athlon sempron, with good reviews). APU's will be good in laptops, bulldozer(steamroller) is to slow at low frequencies and to hot at higher frequencies to be really successful, also needs to be a quad core/2 module to perform. It is a waiting game and has been since 2012. AMD's little chip APU's were intended for PC's and laptops as well. (That said it is rumored that Carrizo with Excavator cores will be laptop only)

"However, if Bulldozer just failed, as you have stated, that means AMD has failed to compete with Intel since after their fist x86 dual core. "

This is simplistic and you likely know it. Go to Toms if you want to argue or research if Bulldozer/Piledriver/S... actually do compete with Intel. In my opinion they were faster then given credit for (multi-threaded/price performance/marketing) minus the first iteration of Bulldozer.

Bulldozer and AM3+ found a home in many PC's, but it is widely viewed as a financial and design failure, compute revenue shows that. And before that, the long road of K10/10h was greatly impacted by Fab issues and failures of a long gone management team. If you think the same AMD management culture still exists then there is no turnaround story for you and no reason to risk a single cent on them. I for one think they have the tools to create a competitive company, but leveraging CPU design takes a long time. They struck out with bulldozer, but Jaguar/Puma are great, they can make nice CPU's. Does one gamble on Jim Kellers..."Big Swing"?

I don't think Zen will be the performance king at the top (maybe maybe not), but it doesn't have to be though, Celeron saved Intel. Intel is also very capable of disappointing chips (baytrail), that are marketed as good.

They don't care what AMD is bringing in 2016 right now, they don't even understand it. What they do know is the revenue potential of the IP coming out of the Fabs right now.....not good. People/Investors talk long, the market moves from one Q to the next.
