  • UBS Analyst: Expect Significant Growth in Lululemon 4Q Earnings  [View article]
This stock is driven by a massive hoard of speculative traders - not by fundamentals. Analysts have gotten their price targets all wrong this year, and I doubt that their current opinions will be on the money.

The price swings we will witness with LULU before and after earnings will be market manipulation at its best... Might as well roll the dice and get in on the trade.

  • Russia-India Deal a Boon for Potash [View article]
Global recessions fears (pro: inflation/defensive stocks), and a weakening US$ is what is really driving MOS,POT & Co.

Sure that on a global scale there is strong demand and thin supply for fertilizer, but THE MARKET is looking at the two points I mentioned above, which equals to momentum, not business deals with India and what not.

The price hikes per tonne is nothing new. It is actually old news. The analysts I know of are not "behind the curve". It is the blind retail speculation that is ahead of it.

Look to a weakening US$ for price appreciation opportunities in MOS & POT; not China's expected per tonne transaction.

  • Goldman's Golden Message: Time to Short the Shiny Stuff [View article]
The investors/traders on this thread seem to have forgotten that the price nature of commodities is extremely volitile.

For Goldman to call a short on gold for 2008 is a bet that comes at a very low risk premium. With the global economy slowing into the next year, it would be quite reasonable to sell the gold rather than to buy it.
