Acorn International: Passing the Yuan Part II [View article]
Great Analysis! Those Chinese Companies do provide very limited information. But on the other side, this company does have 160mm cash on hand besides 38mm short-term investment at the end of Q3. That's over 5 dollar cash per share. ATV closed at 6.92 last Friday. Taking the bumps in their business into accounts, if ATV core business can make even for the next 2-3 years, I don't think there are too much downward pressures. Of course, it may be dead money for a couple of years until its core business improves. In my opinion, if there is no 30mm stock buy-back, investors may have a little bit more confidence about the company.

They should clarify the IPO investment. Is it buying at issuing price via lottery (slim chance you can buy at low issuing price) or investing after IPOs have been listed. Those two are quite different. The first one, has much less chance to lose money. Great article. I can not agree more!
