  • AMD Looks Finished [View article]
I haven't been around AMD articles lately, but it seems to me that nothing changed here lol
Only thing that reminded me of AMD was when I did my taxes for 2014 tax year I had to pay quite a few $$$ on my short term AMD realized gains in my brokerage account :-)
    cheers!

    RHMASSING,
it's almost 6 months later now, do you still believe that it will be higher another 6 months from now?
I'd say yes now, but did not agree with you 6 months ago and it seems rightfully so. Just saying :)

  • Seadrill's Earnings Likely To Fluctuate Despite Cash Flow Stability [View article]
    FRPTsaveslives,

I partially disagree. SDRL fell hardER than other companies that don't have such high debt and were not paying unreasonable dividend - for example ESV. Yes, the main reason all offshore drillers' stock prices fell was the oil price drop, but some were hit harder for that reason. Look at the charts for your reference.

    @The Medici,

Yes, it fell 20% in a day when they announced the dividend elimination. I think that it's fairly safe and worth the risk to get some shares at these levels though around $10-12. Wouldn't bet too much on it or any stock as usual but it's a very interesting speculative play to get in now and sell when it doubles maybe in a 1-2 years period. Good for you that you didn't buy it when it was $40 falling for the juicy dividend trap as many people did :-)
    Good luck!

    31October,

Better selling too soon with any profit, than losing your shirt and pants on the way down and wasting more time waiting for it to go back to $41 some nice , bright day. Of course as long as you're patient and lucky it is possible that it will go back to $41.
    Good luck!

    Tudor,
I am sure they will be all back , when SDRL reinstates the dividend and the share price goes up to $40 again :-)

  • Seadrill: Value Play Or Value Trap? Trading Cheap, But No Moat [View article]
    go-4-it,
Completely agree with you. I mentioned many times in the past that I simply can't trust a crook like John Fredriksen, especially after what happened with FRO before too. For me SDRL is just a very small speculative play right now, that can make you money quick and you bail out. I never viewed it as a good investment sorry.

    basilico,
the fact is people who were bragging about their fine SDRL investment failed to see this downfall coming. I did. They were saying that I did not know anything at the time too and that they are the "smart ones".Well......Seems like a blind luck? Fact is a fact. When facts speak even GODS are silent. End of story!

Exactly! My point was that yet so many people did not see this downfall coming and were so confident that SDRL was such a good buy at $40 and they were all bragging at the time, how they collect the best dividend and what a good company SDRL is ! Why not brag about it now? Somebody has to right? :-)

I agree, more risk and more upside. Just have to know when the right time is though and that was not when it was $40 and paying a very unreasonable, too good to be true dividend! Other people disagreed with me back then. I respect that, but we see what happened.
Now that things are different and the share price is low and the crazy dividend is gone, I think that SDRL has potential to make you money if you bought it low enough.
    Good luck!
