I don't think you should shrug off TV as an non-effective entertainment option. Granted, there are a lot of bad shows out there, but there are also many good ones. In fact, I think I enjoy watching an NFL game on TV vs. going to one in person. No ticket necessary, no traffic, no crowds, no lines, no overpriced beer/food, and always indoors.
Otherwise I enjoyed the article. Video gaming is still one of the cheapest recession-resistant forms of entertainment out there.
Nintendo Needs To Reach Out to Shareholders [View article]
To my knowledge, your pink sheet shares would split just the same. So if you use the author's example, you would have 2000 shares @ ~$2.8/share. A 20-1 split seems a little drastic to me. A 2-1 or 3-1 is more realistic.
There's pros and cons to each of the things the author mentions, but anytime you make the stock more easily available to the average person, it's a usually good thing. I'm sure there are many in US that don't even know Nintendo is publicly traded. The exposure is horrible right now, and the news feeds are often days old. Makes it very hard to own the stock and make an informed decision.

Nice article. I'd love to see Nintendo make these changes.
I think a big reason why the stock is suffering right now is simply due to the gaming cycle. People just assume that profits will start to tank after a system has "peaked". The gaming cycle is a thing of the past, considering all the new revenue streams that weren't around in the 90s, but you can't fight the tape.
Looking to get in when the lemmings (and Nintendo, as your article pointed out), get their heads on straight.
September Wii Sales Drop 30% in Japan: Is Nintendo Still a Buy? [View article]
Couldn't have said it better myself. To think Nintendo and the Wii are declining is ridiculous. Some are calling Super Mario Galaxy the best game Nintendo EVER made, and many other highly touted games are just beginning to hit the shelves now and within the next few months. The recent sell-offs and poor market are only an excuse to buy more.
If you want to stay a skeptic, be my guest. More profits for the rest of us.
