First of all, why limiting your time frame to 10 years?

    Secondly, why 50% a year?

You have at least to separate AWS from the retail operations as they are not growing at the same pace.

Worldwide Ecommerce represents less that 10% of retail today. In 10 years, 25% of retail sales will come from ecommerce. Can you just imagine how much money it represents? More people buying more via ecommerce is what lies ahead, not the opposite. If Amazon is able to grow its retail business at 10% annually for the next 10 years, we will have $250B+ in sales.

What will be AWS value in 10 years? I believe AWS will have sales of at least $50B.

    TOTAL: $300B in sales

What price/sales ratio should we apply to the retail operations?
What price/sales rario should we apply to AWS?

How big Amazon studio will be?

    How big Twitch will be?

How big Amazon streaming business will be?

You have to add all of these line of businesses to the $300B in sales.

I believe Amazon will be worth $1T in 10 years.

I bought my first shares at $17 when Amazon was worth only a couple of $B because it was clear to me that Bezos was THE right man with the right vision to grow this company beyond imagination. I still think we have a long way to go.

    Dana,

Knowing that ecommerce is still in its infancy and AWS growing like weed, it is difficult to imagine how big Amazon could be one day. I always thought that Amazon will one day be bigger than Apple and one of a few to reach at least $1T in market cap.

Gopro reminds me of Apple 10 years ago. Probably the best brand in consumer electronics (just behind Apple).

A visionary CEO with 30% of the stock that shares some strategic thinking characteristics with Bezoz.

    A clear winner.

    @Dana

Thank you for another great article.

When you say "Amazon will be able to monetize search in ways Google can't imagine".

What do you see? How Amazon could achieve this?

    Keep up the good work!

The point is not the profits they are making on that purchase. The point is that initially FB bought Whatsapp for $19B. At the time, people were saying that Zuckerberg was crazy to buy $10 Millions of revs for $19B.

He was buying more than that.

    Same logic applies to Twitter.

No they don't regret buying Whatsapp. Not one bit. You should know why.

I can name more than one, can you?

I will certainly not spoon feed you for free. Named them a couple of times. See my archived comments.

So tired to read the same thing here...post after post after post on Seeking Alpha.

This website is not what it once was. Unfortunately...

    My last post on SA...

I know I will not be missed. :)

In the meantime, everybody should listen to the SA Oracle himself.

    Here is the bottom line:

You were bear all the way in your comments on AMZN at that time...we were at around $210.

At what price is the stock today?

    That's the bottom line.

You are probably smarter than the big value investors that were loading the truck on Amazon lately.

We are into the market not to be theoretically right. We are into the market to make money.

Keep your shorts...until you lose your shirt! :) That was an easy one!

  • Facebook Q4 2014 Review: Steady As She Goes [View article]
    Why holding the stock?

We have a business that could generate revenue between $42B to $50B from digital advertising (including mobile) by 2019.

Then, you have to add other revenue streams such as Whatsapp, Messenger (with David Marcus as the leader...hint to a payment solution here), Instagram, and the Occulus OS (which is without a doubt the next big thing). On Occulus, did you see what Occulus Studios are working on! Amazing!

As a result, you may have $65B to $80B in revenues by then.

Apply a PS multiple of 8 and you will have a monster.

Be patient. Hold the stock for the long term.
