Yeah, it is a mobile world. That's exactly why Echo will be a huge hit.

Seems that nobody realize what Amazon wants to achieve with Echo. Really? C'mon guys. All the experts here on SA should see this. I am surprised but that's good news!

  • Amazon up 4% after eBay's earnings [View news story]
It seems that in 2015 people are still missing the point.

While Amazon e-commerce will be huge, the best part is wiithout a doubt AWS. This business segment alone could easily be valued at $100B in 5 years.

Also, on the device business, Echo will be a huge hit. Keep your eyes on the ball, fellows.

  • What To Expect From DreamWorks In 2015 [View article]
Mattel would the perfect company for Dreamworks. They have all these toy lines that could be turned into movies, series...

Imagine the Hotwheels Adventures or Polly Pockets' City...

They should buy Dreamworks. A great fit.

Bought today at an average of $20.70.

  • Amazon.com Wants To Flop In Movie Theaters [View article]
    Paulo,

    Did you make money?

Because most of the time you don't have a position on the stocks covered in your articles/comments.

We are in the market to make money, not to be right on theories. If you have all that time to waste...your choice. Seeing the amount of comments you are making every day I am wondering how you can possibly do anything else than...writing articles.

I'll stick to what I do best...

    Making money.

By the way...you should recalculate the upside/downside % that you are indicating. Like CYOU...it is not +46 or 47% upside but in the range of 15-20%. So, half of what you are indicating. Just sayin lol!

    Good luck!

    Paulo,

While you may be a great guy in accounting, you are clearly not a great investor, trader or speculator...

Here are some of your great calls on Seeking Alpha:

    Sep 7, 2011. 11:23 AM
You were bear all the way in your comments on AMZN at that time...we were around $210. We are at $296 today.

    Oct 16, 2011. 09:25 AM
You were bear on Netflix. The stock was at $200 and is now at $400.

    Jul. 10, 2012 1:21 PM ET
You were bear on the market at time. QQQ was at $65-70. We are at $101 today!

My favorite is your article on Portugal Telecom on August 7, 2014.
Your title was: Buy Portugal Telecom Right Now

''You should be out there today buying Portugal Telecom (NYSE:PT) at $1.86, $1.87, $1.88.''

Hey Paulo...It was $1.88 when you told people to go out and buy. It is now at $0.81. 81 CENTS...down 56%!!

I have tons more if you want...

Keep up the good work, Paulo! :)

  • Why Amazon Is Expanding Original Content To The Big Screen [View article]
What we are seeing right now is a shift that will lead to the death of conventional theatres. The same thing that happened to video clubs.

Soon, people will no longer go to a cinema to watch a movie. Movies will be released directly on-line. Amazon knows that.

Only movies that will remain in theatres will be 3D, IMAX etc.

We'll get there within 5 years IMHO.

  • BlackBerry: Why Do Investors Never Learn From Buyout Rumors? [View article]
Today was probably the best day to buy Blackberry.

A $7-8B valuation would be a win-win for the buyer as well as Blackberry.

Surprised that Chen doesn't want to sell at that price. I would.

    Long BBRY.

  • Why Amazon Is Likely To Never Make A Profit [View article]
    Eenk:

Here is how you die in business: you do not take risk, you do not innovate and you build the biggest mountain of cash possible. Then you manage to report reasonable earnings and one day you're gone because your competitors seized all the opportunities you left on the table.

E-commerce is only 7% of retail today. It is NOW the time to seize opportunities...not in 20 years.

Here is what Bill Miller has to say about Amazon:

"My point is that Amazon has a tremendous record of creating value for shareholders since it came public. Malone never reported a profit with TCI. But he built tremendous value. We think Amazon should not report profits. They should grow the business as fast as they can to sustain their competitive advantage."

It seems that too many people simply do not get this point.

  • Amazon up 3.1% following Citi upgrade [View news story]
I pay attention to the following fundamentals:

(PR dated Jan 5) The number of sellers on Amazon adopting the Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) service to help scale their businesses and delight customers with Amazon’s award-winning fulfillment and customer service also grew more than 65 percent year-over-year worldwide. There are currently more than 2 million sellers on Amazon worldwide that account for over 40 percent of the total units sold on Amazon.

  • Amazon up 3.1% following Citi upgrade [View news story]
Never listen to analysts. Bull or bear...it is all the same.

The only thing to keep in mind here is the long term trend of e-commerce and the ecosystem Amazon is building. The rest is pure noise.

Will the stock go down tomorrow? I don't know. Will it be over $290 in a week? No clue.

If the market crashes...Amazon will crash as well. So will Facebook, Google, Berkshire, Markel, Disney etc.
