Tim, Full disclosure : I am long GRMN. Painfully so.

Nothing you have said about the GRMN phone seems to be radically new. Every feature you have mentioned is available on the AT&T Slider. Including Google Maps. I have a Taiwan ETEN cell phone and I have used Google Maps on it for over a year WITH GPS. Gas Stations, restaurants and all.

      Max,

To put it in perspective - US federal govt gave $16.2b in 2004 to US farmers.
      - Fuel tax in US is approx 47c (State+federal) per Gallon. Over 10% of all fuel consumed. Surely in several billions of dollars.

Yup Indians are dumbasses. The govt in the US surely have it all figured out. :)

I don't know about real estate taking decades to turn around. Having lived through the 80s in Dallas when oil prices went from $17/b to a nose-bleed $33/b ;) Real-estate tanked massively. Condos that once went for mid-80s sold for 20K. Yup you read it right - 20K. It took about 8 years for the mess to clean up. But it did. So depends on your level of patience. But $ cost averaging into XHB may not be a bad thing. Apr 23 10:02 AM

Excellent post. Thanks. I was always confused between glimpses of wisdom hidden amongst irrational valuations and thought may be I am viewing Cramer wrong. Thank God I did not trade on his advice. Jan 26 08:24 AM
