Cal-Maine Foods: Omlette or Bad Egg?
"Eggs are an extremely cyclical commodity, and Cal-Maine’s revenues are almost totally dependent on the wholesale egg price."

How are eggs cyclical? Personally, I eat eggs all year long in all economic environments. I think a more accurate statement would be that egg prices fluctuate.

You're absolutely right. The cost of holding the naked puts should be added to the cash outlay analysis. I pointed this out on the same post on Gurufocus. Somehow I don't think the author believed me.

Insider Trends in the Financial Sector
      Gordon

Instead of just looking at March, take a step back. In the last 6 months WB had 6 insider buys valued at 32.4 Million, 1 insider sell valued at 158K. This excludes acquisitions and disposals from options.

This data is from J3SG - a site specializing in insider data. Also confirmed at MSN money.

I see the same thing that the author notes for Wachovia. I can't confirm for all banks.

In the past few months, several Director have purchased millions. This includes one 19 million purchase. The CEO purchased 3.9 million.
These seem like more than token purchases to me.

This can be easily confirmed in MSN money - insider purchases.

      Correct me if I'm mistaken.

I do not think insults are helpful in the spirit of this board.
Particularly, since you offer no support for your comments.
We all have different opinions and I'm sure some readers

I used Q3 numbers and I deducted all liabilities from cash. Just a more conservative view, but your point is correct.

90% T-Bills/10% Berserk and Other Intriguing Portfolios
I came across this type of portfolio when I was experimenting with options. Apparently some positive academic studies were done with a portfolio of 90% Tbills and 10% leap options. The maximum loss in any year would be around 6% or so, assuming you can earn 4% with the Tbills. So it is quite conservative.

This upside is of course unlimited.

Financials: Insiders Buying on Consistent Basis
While I agree that large insider purchases relative to their net worth is better, WB insiders have been purchasing millions. The biggest purchase I saw was 20 million. To me, these look like significant purchases.

To Arohan -- it has to be on a case by case basis, I don't think you can say all financial stocks are good buys at moment. But personally, I feel that insider actions weigh heavily. Outsiders can never know the quality of the balance sheet as well as inside mgnt. I am bullish on WB for that very reason.
